A Burger King employee has been fired after an Ohio woman received several buds of marijuana in an order of chicken fries for her child.

Newsweek has reached out to Burger King franchisee Miller Management via LinkedIn and @JannaBama via social media for comment.

TikTok user @JannaBama posted a video on Sunday night after she visited a Burger King in Hamilton, Ohio.

In the video, she says "OK, went to Burger King tonight, listen, I need you guys to listen."

She continues filming the bag, saying, "Got my kid some chicken fries. This bag came. If you look down there, you can see some residue.

Then she shows a bowl containing chicken fries and several buds of marijuana.

"She got her chicken fries. Chicken fries with a side of … do you see that? You can't say that on here. 'Mary Jane' from Burger King in Hamilton, Ohio."

The video has gone viral and at the time of reporting has been viewed 1.5 million times. It has been liked over 100,000 times.

In an email shared with Newsweek, a spokesperson for Burger King said: "We contacted the franchisee of this restaurant immediately upon learning of this incident and can confirm that the [contract for the] employee in question has been terminated.

"We were very disappointed to learn of the incident and do not take incidents that put our guests in danger lightly."
