As State Chairman, I want to draw attention to a deeply troubling sight. Yesterday, the capital was filled with passionate Texans wearing red shirts asking with a message"Ban Democrat Chairs". House gallery was not full, it was mostly empty most of the time. Why? Because House leadership shamefully refused to let citizens—who stood in line for hours—into the gallery to witness the proceedings, despite the empty seats.
This is an insult to "The People’s House," funded by the taxpayers of Texas. Instead of honoring transparency and accountability, they posted guards to block access to Texans who traveled to Austin to observe the Speaker vote. I'm told one of the Legislator had DPS officer standing outside of his office to stop his constituents from entering the office.
