it would be nice if these towers could be converted somehow into energy collection devices to capture lightning energy. It's said (I read) that they get hit by lightning quite often. Imagine if the ideas of Tesla were used to capture energy!

One lightning strike, which can be triggered through well known methods, would be a boon and if we could store the energy quickly (through well engineered methods) that energy could power cities.
