Fetterman’s approach to Trump stirs speculation

by Hanna Trudo - 01/16/25 6:00 AM ET

Sen. John Fetterman’s (D-Pa.) open-minded approach to President-elect Trump is fueling questions about his motives and vexing some of his fellow Democrats. In the wake of Trump’s victory in November, Fetterman has emerged as a critic of his own party’s messaging, while also signaling a willingness to entertain some of the incoming administration’s policy ideas.

The Pennsylvania senator drew praise from Trump himself after the two men met last week. Fetterman had already become a lightning rod among progressives thanks to his embrace of Israel, and his recent actions are further adding to his polarizing reputation in the party, where some see him positioning himself for a bigger national presence.

“I wouldn’t 100 percent rule out that maybe or slightly there is some thinking about different or future opportunities,”said Eddie Vale, a longtime Democratic strategist. Others are even less certain why Fetterman has taken some of his recent positions.

“There’s no telling with any certainty what Fetterman’s motivations are. I do political analysis, not psychoanalysis,” said Norman Solomon, a progressive strategist and founder of the activist network RootsAction.“But clearly, he has been moving rightward.”

Less than a week until inauguration, the sit-down at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago club isdrawing speculation about what role Fetterman could play in Trump’s second term. Shortly after the meeting, Trump lavished Fetterman with praise, calling him “a fascinating man,” distinguishing him from most Democrats who are still keeping their distance.

Ford O’Connell, a Republican strategist, suggested Trump is being strategic in finding a Democrat on Capitol Hill for bipartisanship.“If you’re willing to put the country first I’m willing to work with you,”he said about the president-elect’s thinking. “That’s what he’s been projecting.”

Both populist leaders have been looking for common ground ahead of Jan. 20. A Trump transition official confirmed to The Hill that the two discussed areas ofagreement on Israel, the U.S.-Mexico border and the future of steel manufacturing, as first reported in the Washington Examiner.

Although the meeting came at Trump’s request, Fetterman’s engagement is just as notable. A product of America’s top battleground, he convinced a politically diverse, working-class coalition to back his 2022 Senate campaign.

Fetterman’s victory was seen by some Democrats as a road map for how they might rebuild trust with low-wage and non-college educated voters. He did so, successfully,by telling those voters he was not a “progressive,” a distinction that won him broader statewide support. Trump, who has changed the nature of Republicanism in his own right, appeared to pick up on that nuance. “He’s a commonsense person. He’s not liberal or conservative,” the incoming president said about the 6-foot-8-inch senator.

While Fetterman has bristled at the progressive label, he did tack to the left on a variety of policies, attracting support from Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and allies; many left-wing Democrats considered him poised to take up the working-class mantle in the upper chamber by prioritizing things such as union jobs and a federal minimum wage increase.

But some Democrats already see him becoming more like Manchin, and more like former Sen. Kyrsten Sinemabefore becoming a reliable vote against Biden’s more liberal policies. To longtime observers, however, Fetterman has always been a bit of a chameleon. When he first launched a Senate bid in 2016, “he ran as a younger, taller, tatted Bernie bro,” said Christopher Nicholas, a Pennsylvania-based GOP consultant.

“He’s accurately read the room and knows there’s a new sheriff in town,” Nicholas said. “He’s very adroit at shocking peopleand then coming back with a retort when they seem shocked. It’s his modus operandi.”

The lack of clarity around Fetterman’s ambitions or end goal makes him intriguing, sources on both sides of the aisle say. Some sympathetic to Trump see him as one of the most important rising figures as the Senate confirmation hearings start for Trump’s Cabinet nominations.Fetterman is seen as a likely “yes” in favor of Robert F. Kennedy Jr.Fetterman’s own personal health history could impact his decision after working to recover from a recent stroke.

But as questions swirl over Fetterman’s underlying agenda, Vale, the Democratic strategist, says it’s worth taking the senator at face value.“[The] simplest answer is just what he is saying,”Vale said.“He is a senator from a 50/50 state that voted for Trump twice, so he’s trying to have a foot in both worlds,” he added.

Trump's inauguration will be coldest in decades

When Trump is sworn in at noon, the temperature will be about 18 or 19 degrees.

Trump inauguration preparations underway

ABC News’ Nicole D’Antonio reports on new details about President-elect Donald Trump’s second inauguration, from security to performers. President-elect Donald Trump's inauguration on Monday isforecast to be the coldest in 40 years.

An arctic front will pass by Washington, D.C., on Sunday night and winds will pick up out of the northwest, ushering in arctic air.

Monday's temperature will be at itshighest about 25 degrees when the clock strikes Inauguration Day at midnight. Throughout the course of the day, the temperature will slowly fall.

WhenTrump is sworn in at noon, the temperature will be about18 or 19 degrees. Due to the wind, the wind chill what temperature it feels like will be between5 and 10 degrees.

By 7 p.m., when the inauguration balls begin, the temperature will be near13 degrees with a wind chill of minus 1.

The coldest January Inauguration Day on record was 1985for President Ronald Reagan's second inauguration.

The temperature that morning fell to a low of 4 degrees below zero. The temperature was just 7 degrees at noon, moving Reagan's swearing-in ceremony inside and canceling the parade. The daytime high was only 17 degrees.

The warmest January inauguration was also for Reagan, in 1981, at a balmy 55 degrees.

Thewarmest inauguration ever was 89 degrees on Aug. 9, 1974, when President Gerald Fordwas sworn in following President Richard Nixon's resignation.

Inaugurations used to be held in March until the 20th Amendment was ratified in 1933, stating that the president's term began at noon on Jan. 20.

One of the most memorable January inaugurations was President John F. Kennedy's in 1961. A snowstorm struck D.C. the night before, and the8 inchesof snow forced people to ditch their cars and created a massive traffic jam.

Tucker Carlson Interviews Mother of Likely Murdered OpenAI Whistleblower

January 16, 2025 | Sundance |

I am very interested in this, in part due to what Suchir Balaji was working on, and in part due to what many people are now starting to recognize as themost valuable asset in the world of AI creation, MASS DATA COLLECTION.

Tucker Carlson sits down with Poornima Ramarao, the mother of Suchir Balaji, who was an AI engineer working with Sam Altman at OpenAI, andquite likely murdered for his concern about how the mass data was being captured=.

The effectiveness of the AI construct is dependent on large scale mass data collection to frame the underlying information network the AI can review. The larger the data capture, the more accurate, effective and valuable the AI outcome is.More inputs equal more reviewable data, equal a more comprehensive outcome; that’s the value. Suchir Balaji became concerned that OpenAI was capturing “copyrighted” material as part of the input data flow. Suchir Balaji soon died under mysterious circumstances. [¹I’ll explain my concern after the video]

¹If you understand the competitive nature of this emerging tech business, specifically as it relates to the multi-billion dollars invested in the AI race to create the best product, then you frame the construct of what is most valuable within the industry.

The more comprehensive and massive the database is, the larger the mass data collection baseline is, the more valuable the AI product is when it is deployed. The AI here is essentially advanced search algorithms that allow the user to ask questions. The AI does the search, the library that supports the outcome is what creates the value of the end product, the result to the question.

As a consequence, the library or databaseholding the previously assembled data, is worth hundreds-of-billions. The AI return result is more accurate with more data to review.

All of the thinking, analysis, mental labor and analysis on every subject in the world being fed into a massive data collection system, creates incredibly accurate AI results. However, much of that data is proprietary, copyrighted and exclusively owned by the person who created it, or institution that commissioned the work.

Suchir Balaji was in charge of scooping up data, enmeshing it in the OpenAI library and noticed that some of thecaptured information was proprietary, copyrighted. Balaji raised alarms and eventually became a whistleblower, because he saw OpenAI was now capturing the exclusive mental work product of others and then adding it to their AI system to create even more value.

I hope that context makes sense, because it’s the baseline for my concern with Larry Ellison, Elon Musk, Peter Thiel, Vivek Ramaswamy, David Sacks and the tech bros who are also part of this advanced autonomous AI competition. There are trillions at stake.

Is DOGE really about government efficiency?… Or…

Is it possible that DOGE is just a false frontwhile simultaneously carrying a larger, unspoken goal of accessing the largest data collection system in the world, theNSA database containing the full spectrum metadata of every American and every electronic communication intercept on earth.

AI is valued based on mass data collection to create the library for the software to access. Is there a larger data collection system than the United States Government? The answer is no.

AI running on the backbone of the full NSA-level data collection, would be the most valuable AI in the world.

Think about it.

What are the real motives and intentions of the Tech Bros here in MAGA world, and the billionaires behind them?

I personally believe what Sundance is suspicious about, that this is possible and likely, especially with Altman involved. No offense by Musk wants to be the first Trillionaire in the world.

But David Sachs and his podcast buddies, had Trump on their "All in" pod cast early in 2024 and it drove their podcasts into the highest ranking podcast of listeners.

David Sachs was appointed by Trump the AI Technology Appointee that reports directly to him.

So all the billionaires around Trump are in love with the money making endeavors AI can create, and they have had many video on their All In podcast

A lot of them are very interesting, but techie anons, please listen to some and see if you pick up anything on this that might be questionable. They are pretty entertaining and seriously brilliant.

Big Move: Speaker Johnson Removes Mike Turner from Chair of the House Intel Committee

1/2January 15, 2025 | Sundance

One of Deep States’ Most Important Generals Removed!

We start this discussion with a note of thanks to the ridiculous democrats and republicans for using the questioning session for AG nominee Pam Bondi, to out themselves on the issue of FISA-702, the unconstitutional surveillance of American citizens. While many will not see it, the timing here is not coincidental.

At the behest of President Donald Trump, House Speaker Mike Johnson has removed House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI) Chairman Mike Turner from his position.

Mike Turner is no longer Chairman of HPSCI. This is a big loss for the Deep State.

Remember also, that President Trump had previously announced an intelligence advisory board headed by Devin Nunes {SEE HERE}.

In addition to his manipulative support for Ukraine, in December of 2023 Chairman Turner lied about his FISA-702 renewal having support from Devin Nunes and John Ratcliffe {LINK}. Mike Turner was not aligned with the MAGA priorities of liberty.

ASSOCIATED PRESS – […] Johnson told reporters late Wednesday that Rep. Mike Turner, an Ohio Republican, would no longer lead the committee, which oversees the nation’s intelligence agencies and holds tremendous influence over law enforcement and foreign policy. During Trump’s first term, the committee became a hotbed of partisanship as its powers were used to assist the then-president. Johnson last year also gave two Trump allies highly-sought spots on the panel.

Johnson said he made the decision to remove Turner because the “intelligence community and everything related to (the committee) needs a fresh start.” The Republican speaker, who has aligned himself closely with Trump, said he would soon announce the new chair for the committee. (link)

Mike Turner told CBS News’ Margaret Brennan that Johnson had cited “concerns from Mar-a-Lago” as the reason for the decision.

Removing Mike Turner is an excellent step in the dismantling of a system network that is eroding the very fabric of our nation.

People keep asking me what can be done to shift events and stop/block the trajectory of the control system that is collapsing our constitutional republic.

Let me share something that is apparently being missed by most. I have spent the past several years deeply engaged with the people and systems you see espoused as defenders in the conservative-sided media. All of the familiar names; all of them held in esteem as persons of significant influence that could ultimately change things.

Allow me to call the baby ugly. Our opinion of their ability is vastly overrated.

This perspective is driven in part by the incapacity of most to understand how the silo system of control inside the matrix of our governmental institutions works.

Everything is compartmentalized…. Everything.

2/2

Every aspect of what you know in totality is unknown to every participant who operates inside each compartment.

That’s a fancy way of saying, you know more than they do.

Yes, that’s correct.

The proverbial “they” have no grasp on the issues we face at the same level of understanding that you do.

Each individual works inside a compartment, a specifically constructed silo of information. They have no concept of what is taking place in other compartments that ultimately connect to their stake-holding.

None of them have the big picture, because the system that operates in Washington DC does not permit it.

Maybe, m.a.y.b.e, a total of 50 elected representatives, across both chambers, including staff, have any idea how FISA 702 is currently weaponized or used. [I am being exceptionally generous, in this one example.] That’s just FISA-702.

If you were to take the issue of DHS surveillance and coordination with social media, that number would be significantly fewer; that’s just another example amid hundreds.

The private sector, the ordinary high information consuming American, has far more knowledge than the elected official that represents them. The politicians and staff therein, just don’t put the same level of importance behind it that you do. That’s the reality of the thing, and too few people grasp what I am talking about, even as you read this.

The people in charge, don’t even know they are in charge; that’s the reality of how deep the compartments are that exist.

The CIA director, NSA director, ODNI, FBI Director, etc have not been in charge of the compartments they represent. They are simply functionaries -middle men- who operate in the space between where the compass points are directed, where the data originates, and oversight of that data that is ultimately filtered and delivered to the functionaries, who then brief the representatives…. who then create policy… albeit flawed policy…. based on a very specific, controlled, compartmented and skewed information flow.

President Trump is trying to change that.

President Trump has our full support.
