Yes, you're quite right. It also depends on where you want to raise your children and what opportunities will be available. I know nothing about the Ozarks. But what I do know is land is what it's worth. Productive land, meaning land you might make a living off of, is simply not affordable unless you're willing to incur what amounts to multi generational debt. Sure, you can knock up a single family self sufficient garden in the woods for a while, but that will not sustain our republic. You will be part of the problem because you will be on welfare, food stamps, social security etc. Non starter.
