Her music was so beautiful and is associated with so many memories.

She dropped a ton of weight, so clearly something was wrong with her health.

It's rumored that she was in the closet, which the record company would have wanted kept hidden back in those more innocent days of the seventies.

I used to beg my mom to let me get Tiger Beat and Sixteen Magazine so I could keep up on the "stars."

Their anorexia rubbed off on us kids, and a girl I knew in high school (she was in the Class of 1980) died from it.

That didn't stop the rest of us, though.

We are very little back then, so it's likely Karen Carpenter's death really was from that insidious disease.

Funny how nowadays we call anorexia "intermittent fasting," but I guess that's better than anorexia because most people who do OF actually do eat well during the "eating window."

I feel bad that we lost a really talented singer in Karen Carpenter, regardless of how she died.
