NEW: Washington, D.C.'s emergency alert system notified residents that a planned military flyover scheduled for Inauguration Day was canceled.

"The U.S. Military Flyover previously scheduled for Monday, January 20, 2025, at 11:55 AM, over the National Mall, has been CANCELED," Alert DC posted to X on Sunday afternoon.

The announcement comes as D.C. braces for harsh weather, including frigid temperatures and snow. President-elect Donald Trump's swearing-in was moved indoors to the Capitol Rotunda due to the weather, while the inaugural parade will be held at the Capital One Arena.
