Which is more detrimental to their cause and their power? Imprisonment or utter disgrace? They are now essentially guilty until proven innocent by their own hands.

Best case scenario for this professional ass-licker is that he becomes an un-hirable pariah as far as the defense contractors are concerned. He'll have to try to survive on the retirement pay of a 4 Star General.

 

Worse case scenerio is other anons have stated. Fraud vitiates any possible pardon for treason. It's going to be interesting to watch the Court Martial. The only fair disposition of which would be reduction of rank to E-1 and publicy televised execution on the yard of Ft Leavenworth.

Define punishment. I believe he should be the recipient of a good old-fashioned public drumming out ceremony where he is stripped of all rank, medals, awards and badges, and is then handed over to the executioner.
