‘Betrayal!’ Alex Vindman’s Wife Fumes About Her Husband Getting Shut Out of Last Minute Biden Pardons==

Rachel Vindman, the wife of Alexander Vindman, posted on social media on Monday morning that “[n]o pardons were offered or discussed” by the outgoing administration of President Joe Biden.
Alexander Vindman is a retired lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army and former National Security Council adviser who testified against President-elect Donald Trump during his first impeachment trial. When he was a child, he immigrated to the United States from Ukraine along with his father Semyon Vindman, older brother Leonid Vindman, and twin brother Eugene Vindman, who was just elected to represent Virginia in Congress this past November. Eugene Vindman served in the Army as well, reaching the rank of colonel but retiring as a lieutenant colonel because he had not been a colonel long enough to retain the rank post-retirement.
Both Alexander and Eugene Vindman have frequently been the target of criticism from Trump and his allies over the years, triggered by Alexander Vindman’s congressional testimony that provided the evidence of abuse of power in Trump’s first impeachment trial.
Monday morning, Biden released a statement announcing pardons for his former Chief Medical Advisor Anthony Fauci, former head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley, “the members and staff of the Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol,” which would include chairman Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-MS), and former Reps. Liz Cheney (R-WY) and Adam Kinzinger (R-IL), and “the U.S. Capitol and D.C. Metropolitan police officers who testified before the Select Committee,” like former D.C. Metropolitan Police Officer Michael Fanone and former U.S. Capitol Police Officer Harry Dunn.
None of the Vindmans were included in that group of pardons, according to Alexander’s wife Rachel Vindman, who posted on Threads Monday morning about her “betrayal and hurt” over the omission.
“Whatever happens to my family, know this: No pardons were offered or discussed,” she wrote. “I cannot begin to describe the level of betrayal and hurt I feel.”
In other replies on Threads, Rachel Vindman responded to the breaking news about Biden’s pardons that her husband “is on a list of enemies and they talk about him all the time but he wasn’t offered shit.”
In response to a follower who asked her what the pardon would be for since “he did nothing wrong,” Rachel Vindman replied, “Neither did anyone else who was pardoned.”
A source familiar with the family’s discussions told Mediaite that the Vindmans had “tried to reach out” to the Biden White House but got “nothing” in response. According to this source, some of the other people on the pardons list did not know it was coming and had not asked for it. The family’s concern, the source said, is while any threatened charges may not pass constitutional muster, the process would be extremely stressful and put them at risk for threats and harassment.
Trump ally Elon Musk has tweeted attacks against Alexander Vindman, including late November when he baselessly accused him of being “on the payroll of Ukrainian oligarchs and has committed treason against the United States, for which he will pay the appropriate penalty.”
With Biden now at the U.S. Capitol awaiting Trump’s inauguration, the chance for any additional pardons has passed. Another noteworthy omission on Biden’s pardon list was Special Counsel Jack Smith, who has also been loudly criticized by Trump for leading the federal prosecutions against him regarding the events of Jan. 6 and classified documents that were seized from Trump’s residence Mar-a-Lago.
Rachel Vindman added an additional post with a succinct comment on the situation.
“FUCK YOU,” she wrote.
