Nah, things were still semi-stable back in the 60s, most Americans could still afford nice things and lived relatively safe too (compared to today). I would say America's descent into decline started after Nixon removed us from the gold standard, and then America rapidly got worse after the industrial outsourcing back in the 80s and 90s (this was when poverty and crime started to skyrocket). The worst era came right after the Zionist/neo-con false flag attack on 9/11, with the passing of the Patriot Act, endless war, the massive surveillance state, enormous increase of government spending and waste…. hopefully that bad era has just ended.
Russia really never wanted this war but they knew the risks if they did not prevent Ukraine from joining NATO. While Russia is winning, it is still coming as a sacrifice with some political risks too. Russia has just as much incentive to end this war as Ukraine does.
