“Symbolic woman”? Get outta here with that crap.

It means women are not permitted to preach the Word from the pulpit. 1 Timothy is a letter from Paul instructing Timothy on how the church is to be structured, organized and operated for the glory of God.

Women can be involved in ministry (and should be), but not behind the pulpit.

What denomination are you, fren? Of course much of the Bible is symbolic; Jesus taught mostly in parables. But everything in scripture is CONTEXT. You can’t say Paul is being symbolic about women in that particular verse while he goes on the give non-symbolic qualifications for leadership in the church (and specifically says they should be MEN).

You need to be careful when you twist the literal holy and inerrant Word of God to mean whatever you want it to mean.

It seems like every time I so much as quote scripture on the board, some retarded faggot responds with some misdirection, misrepresentation about scripture.

Yes. Denomination.

Many denominations hold fast to apostate, unbiblical beliefs. Catholics are not the same as Pentecostals. Presbyterian are not the same as Methodist.

I’m not going to pretend like I know the mind of God, but when a denomination allows women at the pulpit they are not following scriptural instruction on the organization and leadership in the church.

I’m PCA Presbyterian, btw. Calvinist. I understand not every Christian follows my particular theology but I believe scripture trumps all differences and when a church is practicing aspects not supported by or directed opposed to in scripture- it’s a very dangerous thing for that church’s congregation.
