If it worked that way then people being exorcised and becoming normal afterwards wouldn't work, because their soul would have been taken to Hell. Especially since Jesus did it in the Bible and the person was immediately fine. They are more like transmissible parasites. You aren't completely aware you have them, but your behavior is affected.
