What happens to State and local level taxes if the IRS goes away? Anyone ever war-game this to the conclusion? We just did overhere. Vast sums of federal money go to states in a million and one ways. Not necessairly bad but much of it is the stuff that is getting cut now. Rug the IRS and the states get even less so what is a State to do?. What they always do. RAISE TAXES. Are we merely transfering taxation at the current level to the states? Is there some mechanism in place to bleed the state ability to tax rape us as well??
