Doesn't matter now. Everyone I know has stopped shopping at Target because of the LGBT favoritism and outlandish merchandise. It's disgusting.

Target is ending its diversity, equity and inclusion program along with other equity initiatives, the retailer said on Friday, becoming the latest U.S. firm to pull back these policies, meant to boost racial and ethnic representation at workplaces.

Earlier this week, President Trump issued a sweeping executive order directing federal agencies to terminate diversity, equity and inclusion programs, encouraging private companies to do the same.

Norah O'Donnell Exits Ahead of Hard Pivot for CBS Evening News.

Norah O'Donnell's exit from "CBS Evening News" Thursday night wasn't what viewers might have expected. And the successor program that CBS intends to air in its place on Monday will have a similar quality.

O'Donnell bid farewell to viewers of the long-running broadcast after a surprise taped cameo from Oprah Winfrey which celebrated the anchor and showed many highlights of her tenure. O'Donnell thanked the audience for welcoming "hard news with heart into your homes," and was spotted being surrounded by colleagues and family as the show's credits began to roll. Coming Monday: a completely overhauled edition of the program that is taking pains to break many visual ties to the days when Walter Cronkite and Dan Rather told the nation what was most important at the end of their day.

Immigration Attorney Resigns His Position as Judge After Federal Raid on Law Offices.

Apparently, the investigation into Molina Flynn predates the executive orders against illegal immigration issued this week by President Donald Trump. (yeah right)

Two sources familiar with the case told WPRI-TV that the raid was related to Molina Flynn allegedly defrauding individuals seeking legal help with respect to immigration.

Molina Flynn was the “first openly gay person and the first formerly undocumented person to serve on the bench in Central Falls.”

Molina Flynn arrived in the United States from Colombia when he was 9 years old.

He followed family members to the United States and overstayed his visitors’ visa. He became a citizen after 15 years of residence.

Molina Flynn says on his website that his legal practice focuses on “crimmigration” consulting, as well as immigration, family, and criminal issues. He launched the practice in 2015.

He also teaches about “crimmigration” in his role as an adjunct professor at the Roger Williams University Law School.

Reality bites Schumer as Senate Dems reel over divisive votes.

Saving Israel for last…

Chuck Schumer is summoning the entire Democratic caucus on Friday after a surprise meeting left key issues unresolved.

Republicans are already teeing up their next tough vote, and Schumer's members want a clear strategy from the top on protecting Trump-state Democrats.

Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-S.D.) has lined up a vote on sanctioning the ICC as the Senate's next legislative piece of business. It could come as early as next week, depending on the pace of Cabinet confirmations.

The ICC sanctions bill, which imposes penalties on ICC officials involved in prosecuting Americans or citizens of U.S.-allied countries that are not a party to the ICC, has nearly universal support in the Republican Party.

But it puts vulnerable Democrats in a difficult political position between pro-Israel groups and progressive activists who think Israeli officials are guilty of war crimes.

Veterans Administration places 60 staff members on leave after shutting down DEI offices.

At least 60 Veterans Affairs employees have been placed on administrative leave following the closure of multiple diversity, equity and inclusion offices across the department, part of a government-wide crackdown on the issue.

In a statement to Military Times, VA officials said that all department DEI offices are "permanently closed" and that the workers on leave were solely focused on those inclusion policy efforts. They did not provide any additional information on when a decision will be made to reassign or fire those workers.

Washington Post editor says newspaper ‘utterly lost its soul’ after ‘equating’ Biden, Trump pardons.

Maraniss, who has written biographies of Bill Clinton and Barack Obama, referred to an editorial titled: “Pardons from Biden and Trump flout the rule of law.”

“President Joe Biden started the trouble by issuing preemptive pardons for five family members as well as former members of his administration,” the newspaper’s editorial board wrote. “His rash action opens the door for future presidents to likewise immunize their families and staffs from merely theoretical prosecution by their successors; as though future presidents should be considered enemies whose actions must be defended against.”

Congratulations fellow American taxpayers, we're paying rent for Medicaid recipients.

Feds Quietly Greenlit Medicaid Funding For Rent Weeks Before Biden Left Office.

Just before Biden left office, the federal government gave the greenlight to use funds from Medicaid to cover the cost of rent for homeless individuals who have certain medical needs in the state.

Human Services reached an agreement with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services that allows Medicaid funds to pay rent for certain homeless people for up to six months, according to a Jan. 17 press release. The amendment approval also grants medical respite services for up to six months for individuals who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

Capitol Rioter Turns Down Trump Pardon, Says He's No Longer MAGA.

Riddle, who learned of his pardon while at the gym with his husband, told NHPR's Morning Edition that he was initially drawn to Trump rallies as a form of escapism, combining his political fervor with his struggles as a then-active alcoholic. When he entered the Capitol building, he said it felt like a "jubilant celebration," but now he views the event with more literal and figurative sobriety.

He rejected Trump's pardon, believing that accepting it would downplay the seriousness of his actions. "It's almost like he was trying to say it didn't happen. And it happened. I did those things, and they weren't pardonable," Riddle stated.
