Toxic RINO McConnell Blasts Pete Hegseth, Reveals Why He Voted “No” on Confirmation

by Cristina Laila Jan. 24, 2025 10:00 pm

Pete Hegseth was confirmed as Secretary of Defense in a late night confirmation vote on Friday night.

Vice President JD Vance cast the tie-breaking vote on Friday after toxic RINO Senators McConnell, Murkowski and Collins voted “no.”

It was already known that GOP Senators Murkowski and Collins were going to vote against Hegseth on Friday evening, so all eyes were on McConnell after Fox News’ Chad Pergram said the Kentucky Senator might defect.

McConnell ended up voting “no” on Friday.

McConnell hobbled over and shook hands with Democrats after he voted “no” on Hegseth.

McConnell said he voted “no” because Hegseth failed to demonstrate whether he can manage an annual budget of nearly $3 trillion and 3 million military personnel.

Mitch McConnell’s Freighted Ties to a Shadowy Shipping Company

After drugs were found aboard the Ping May, a vessel owned by his wife’s family’s company, Colombian authorities are investigating.

Lee Fang October 30, 2014

Before the Ping May, a rusty cargo vessel, could disembark from the port of Santa Marta en route to the Netherlands in late August, Colombian inspectors boarded the boat and made a discovery. Hidden in the ship’s chain locker, amidst its load of coal bound for Europe, were approximately 40 kilograms, or about ninety pounds, of cocaine. A Colombian Coast Guard official told The Nation that there is an ongoing investigation.

The seizure of the narcotics shipment in the Caribbean port occurred far away from Kentucky, the state in which Senator Mitch McConnell is now facing a career-defining election. But the Republican Senate minority leader has the closest of ties to the owner of the Ping May, the vessel containing the illicit materials: the Foremost Maritime Corporation, a firm founded and owned by McConnell’s in-laws, the Chao family.

Though Foremost has played a pivotal role in McConnell’s life, bestowing the senator with most of his personal wealth and generating thousands in donations to his campaign committees, the drug bust went unnoticed in Kentucky, where every bit of McConnell-related news has generated fodder for the campaign trail. That’s because, like many international shipping companies, Chao’s firm is shrouded from public view, concealing its identity and limiting its legal liability through an array of tax shelters and foreign registrations. Registered through a limited liability company in the Marshall Islands, the Ping May flies the Liberian flag.

McConnell’s ties to the Chaos go back to the late 1980s, when James Chao began donating to the senator. In 1993, McConnell married James’s daughter, Elaine Chao, a Republican activist and former Reagan administration official who would later serve as secretary of labor in the George W. Bush cabinet. James Chao emigrated to the United States from Taiwan, and founded the Foremost Maritime Corporation upon settling in New York. The company has grown significantly over the years, from acting as maritime agent during the Vietnam War to controlling a fleet of approximately sixteen dry-bulk cargo ships in operation today.

Foremost acts as a shipping agent, purchasing vessels made primarily in China and coordinating shipment of commodities. Records reviewed by The Nation reveal that Foremost transports corn, chemicals and other goods to cities throughout the world. The company has offices in New York and Hong Kong.

Prince Andrew's Jeffrey Epstein and Royal Lodge secrets 'to be spilled' as Duke faces double whammy

Channel Five will air two documentaries about the disgraced Duke of York on Saturday night with the 64-year-old advised to hide behind the sofa

Douglas Dickie 22 JAN 2025

Prince Andrew is set to face further humiliation this weekend when many of his secrets are spilled on national TV. Channel Five will dedicate two shows to the disgraced Duke of York this weekend, looking into two of his most damaging scandals.

Both shows air on Saturday night with Andrew, 64, advised to change the channel if he flicks onto Five - or hide behind the sofa. From 8pm on Saturday, the channel will air 'The Battle For Royal Lodge: Andrew vs Charles'.

This will look at King Charles's attempts to oust his brother from the huge royal property, thought to be worth £30 million. Andrew signed a 74-year lease in Royal Lodge over 20 years ago but Charles is keen for him to move to a smaller property, more in keeping with his lowly position within 'The Firm' after he was stripped of his titles and stopped being a working royal in 2019.

Andrew has managed to hold onto the home, which he lives in with ex-wife Sarah Ferguson. Last year he was able to fund his own security team after Charles removed his detail although mystery surrounds where he got the money from.

Channel Five said: "The future of luxurious Royal Lodge hangs in the balance. Home to disgraced Prince Andrew, King Charles is said to want him out. We uncover secrets behind those iron gates."

That programme will be followed at 9.30pm by 'Prince Andrew: Where Did All the Money Go?'. This ITN produced promises to dive "into the unclear waters of Prince Andrew’s finances, unravelling the intricate web of controversies, connections, and questions surrounding his wealth".

Central to this will be his friendship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The show will look at how he has funded his legal bills and the unspecified pay-out - thought to be in the region of £12m - to trafficking victim Virginia Giuffre.

She claims to have had sex with Andrew three times after being trafficked by Epstein for that purpose. Epstein killed himself in a prison cell in 2019 while awaiting trial while his close associate Ghislaine Maxwell was convicted of child sex trafficking and other crimes in 2021 and is currently serving a 20-year sentence.

The shows come off the back of the latest crisis to engulf Andrew. His friendship with an alleged Chinese spy saw him effectively banished from the royal Christmas celebrations at Sandringham. Reports suggest he could quit the UK for good in an attempt to leave his murky past behind.

President Cyril Ramaphosa has signed the Expropriation Bill into law, which provides for the expropriation of land with nil compensation.

The law also seeks to provide for certain instances where expropriation with nil compensation may be appropriate in the public interest.

The latest legislation joins a list of contested laws signed into law by the President, including the National Health Insurance (NHI) and Basic Education Basic Education Laws Amendment (BELA) acts.

6 December 2024

The civil rights organisation AfriForum has made it clear to the ANC that the organisation will launch substantial legal action to protect private property rights in South Africa, in the event that President Cyril Ramaphosa signs the Expropriation Bill or the ANC tries to amend the Constitution. This comes after the ANC indicated this week that the party will table proposed amendments to the Constitution to make expropriation without compensation possible, despite their participation in the Government of National Unity.

Just like the Bela Bill, AfriForum views attempts to dismantle private property rights and make expropriation without compensation possible as a clear red line, due to the economic destruction and constitutional rights violations that would result.

The Ministry of Land Reform and Rural Development recently confirmed that out of the total of 64 354 land claims that have been settled since 1998, only 8 314 (12,9%) of the successful claimants took possession of the land they sought, while 56 040 (87,1%) chose financial compensation instead.

According to Ernst van Zyl, Head of Public Relations at AfriForum, any proposed amendments to the Constitution that will enable expropriation without compensation and thus the destruction of private property rights, should be opposed tooth and nail and uncompromisingly.

“If the President signs the Expropriation Bill into law, AfriForum will announce its next steps to protect private property. AfriForum will also be the first organisation to take the government to court if it starts targeting private property for expropriation without compensation,” concludes Van Zyl.

Cyril Ramaphosa commented; “Local, provincial and national authorities will use this legislation to expropriate land in the public interest for varied reasons that seek, among others, to promote inclusivity and access to natural resources.”

And he is now currently in Davos wooing big corporations. >>22401838
