on top of which the 14th is the foundation of the ruling which allows corporations to use "civil rights", which on the surface seems "ok" but then grants all sorts of loopholes bc you cannot easily create laws which cover corporations and individual citizens separately.

 

it's a big problem, and imo it exemplifies how difficult it is to create baseline "spirit of the law" language which resists bastardization.

 

but then further, what do we do with sentient ai? do they get rights under the 14th?
