They are affiliated with the church but they are NOT the church. The finances are separate. They live on donations. Money that should go to the church goes to them instead (they get some of the collections).
the church has a lot of ancient prayers. you can find them on line. At some of the sights most of the ones presented as 'prayers for migrants' or 'prayers for social justice'.
sometimes there will be a novena and it will include stuff about politics.
It's always very very obvious.
I don't pray those ones.

we were always warned about this.
and the story of the church has always included the idea that many who are of the church aren't actually that holy at all.

I believe that 'homeland' is a term created to justify wars and, in fact, people move around.
and should live where they want as long as it makes sense, is legal, and they can afford to do it.
