This may just be a total conspiracy but timing is weird on this.

The documentary Icarus exposes a Russian doping scandal from the 2014 Sochi Olympics.

The film starts off pretty slow with an attempt to show how much of an impact doping has on cycling.

The films star/narrator/director takes illegal and banned drugs and is instructed on how to use them via skype.

On the other end of the Skype is a Russian doctor who has experience in this field.

The documentary quickly fails as the star has issues with his bike and he does not do any better after doping.

And then out of nowhere the films Russian doctor exposes a massive Russian doping scandal from 2014.

So back to the timing…

When did the film debut?

January 20, 2017

What also Happened that Day?

Donald J. Trump’s Inauguration Day!

The film was then bought by Netflix for $5 million dollars.

It went live on Netflix in August of 2017 after the director/star/narrator had more footage with the Russian doctor.

And the focus was pushed harder about the Russian doping scandal rather than his lack of placing higher in a cycling competition after doping!

Then I find articles like this comparing the documentary to Laura Poitras’ “Citizenfour”.

Which was a documentary about Edward Snowden.

Am I stretching here?

Or could this have been pushed out to get our brains subconsciously always hating Russia?
