>But how will we pay for the Money Pit Public Schools?

Let the parents pay the bulk of the cost, with voluntary contributions from businesses and individuals who care about the quality of their citizenry. Voluntaryism is key. Childless people, people who are homeschooling their children, and others should NOT be required to abandon their property rights just because socialist-minded citizens want other people to fund their children's education.

>Madman he is.

On the contrary, he's a stable genius. Just ask him!

This anon simply cannot reconcile this particular action with past promises made.

People who need food should be given food. That said, I support requiring people to contribute what they can to society to "earn their keep." When meaningful work can be given to people seeking aid, it actually helps their self-esteem.

This anon has compassion for the hungry. Anon was between jobs once, could not afford food or utilities. It's not a good place to be.

Just so all anons know, if you find yourself in similar circumstances, there's a charity which will help you regardless of last year's tax return-reported income: Modest Needs <https://www.modestneeds.org/>

It's focused on the working poor; people who usually can support themselves, but then bad things happen, they hit a patch of bad luck…

I've donated to them for many years, because once upon a time I walked in those shoes.
