Spouse said the news claimed it was an ice skating team? Out of Witchita… I asked her to forward a link, she mumbled something about having a job and got in the shower.
Any modern aircraft with glass cockpit can be remotely targeted. The have wifi capabilities so they can remotely report aircraft deficiencies. The communication is over standard twisted pair databus. Lockheed claimed it couldn't be hacked during Operational Testing and Evaluation of a certain aircraft. Co worker pulled out his linux laptop and proved them wrong. They also said it couldn't get a virus, not only did we infect the plane by plugging in a cell phone, it spread to Lockheed itself, so yes all are vulnerable hence why I don't fly.
The original author of GRBL open source CNC code vanished after attending a makers fare and it's presumed he was on that flight.
I apologize, I didn't intend to construe that he was that important. People in the community were just confused/worried why he vanished and only realized years later, there were others from the makers faire on that plane so it's an informed assumption that's why he disappeared.
Reporters asked if it's safe to fly, what a bogus question, flying always comes w/inherent risks. It's statistically safe as long as you aren't on a someone's shit list and nobody makes a legitimate oops, otherwise, by it's very nature, it's dangerous as hell.
If there's a change of baker, they can chose to jump ship early however, they usually inform the peeps and lock the bread to force migration. No lock, no leave for me.
