President Donald Trump’s recent directive to repurpose Guantánamo Bay as a detention center for up to 30,000 undocumented immigrants has ignited significant concern among Democratic insiders.

A recent executive order targeting “Gender Ideology Extremism” and efforts to combat antisemitism by potentially deporting pro-Palestinian activists have heightened fears that the administration may use Guantánamo Bay to detain individuals beyond undocumented immigrants.
