The ATC did a fine job. PAT25 repeatedly requested visual separation. This put the responsibility on the helo. After a conflict alert warning the ATC asked PAT25 again if the CRJ was in sight. PAT25 confirmed and requested visual separation again. The pilot may have been mistakenly looking at another aircraft, but PAT25 confirmed to ATC that the CRJ was in sight.

This review shall include a systematic assessment of any deterioration in hiring standards and aviation safety standards and protocols during the Biden Administration.
Consistent with the Presidential Memorandum of January 21, 2025, the Secretary and the Administrator shall take all actions necessary to reverse concerning safety and personnel trends during the prior 4 years, instill an unwavering commitment to aviation safety, and ensure that all Americans fly with peace of mind.

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. (KABC) – Three people killed in a helicopter crash in Newport Beach were identified on Wednesday.
Joseph Anthony Tena, 60, of Newport Beach and Kimberly Lynne Watzman, 45, of Santa Monica were named as two of the victims who died in the Tuesday crash, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Department.
The third victim was identified as 56-year-old Brian R. Reichelt of Hollywood, Florida.
Watzman was general manager of the Standard Hotel in West Hollywood, according to a friend.
