Balchug Capital will acquire 100% of the Russian arm of the world’s second-largest investment bank

President Vladimir Putin has allowed the sale of the Russian division of US investment bank Goldman Sachs, according to a document published on the state portal for legal information.

The order, signed by the Russian president on Friday, said Balchug Capital JSC will be able to purchase 100% of shares in Goldman Sachs Bank, which is owned by the US-based Goldman Sachs Group, Inc.

The deal was approved in line with a presidential decree on special economic measures in response to “unfriendly actions” by foreign states and organizations, the document read.

Balchug Capital JSC belongs to the Balchug Capital investment firm of Armenian businessman David Amaryan. According to the company’s data, it currently manages assets worth around $2 billion.

Balchug Capital JSC has previously acquired the assets of a Western firm seeking to leave Russia over the Ukraine conflict; purchasing the stock of US construction equipment manufacturing corporation, Caterpillar in 2024.

Goldman Sachs announced plans to withdraw from the Russian market just weeks after the escalation between Russia and Ukraine in February 2022, becoming the first Wall Street institution to take such a decision. Later that year, Goldman Sachs Bank was included in a list of credit institutions which are banned from transactions of shares and stocks without special permission from the authorities in Moscow.

Soros-Owned Radio Station Exposes Identities of Undercover ICE Agents.

A radio station owned by leftist billionaire George Soros has publicly revealed the locations of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents operating undercover in San Jose, California. A KCBS 740 AM radio host disclosed details about ICE operations on January 26. The information shared by Bret Burkhart detailed the types of unmarked vehicles and the specific locations where ICE agents were present.

Burkhart cited updates from social media posts made by the Rapid Response Network, an organization opposing deportation efforts. Burkhart’s broadcast might have endangered the agents’ safety by potentially exposing their covert operations.

Soros acquired Audacy, a major U.S. radio station network, for $400 million in February 2024, including KCBS 740 AM.

The Santa Clara County pro-illegal alien Rapid Response Network initially reported these activities through its online platforms. They listed descriptions of the unmarked vehicles and disclosed locations where ICE officers were allegedly positioned.

ICE began operations under border czar Tom Homan immediately after the inauguration of President Donald J. Trump on January 20. Homan stated that ICE was prioritizing violent criminal illegals, some of whom are wanted for serious crimes like murder or child rape.

So far, ICE has arrested over 1,000 criminal illegal aliens across the country. In a recent interview, Homan stated that all illegals were on ICE’s radar, however. “It’s a crime. And that’s the way it’s supposed to be. I wouldn’t feel comfortable if I’m in Switzerland illegally. So we’re going to enforce the laws of this country,” he said.

Chuck Todd Announces Departure From NBC News

Longtime NBC News television anchor Chuck Todd announced Friday that he is departing the network after nearly 20 years.

Todd wrote in a Friday memo to staffers that he will be focusing on new ventures and is taking his podcast, ChuckToddcast, with him in order to continue reporting the news. The now-former NBC News host began at NBC News in 2007 as a political director and became chief White House correspondent in 2008, before later becoming the host of “Meet the Press” in 2014.

“There’s never a perfect time to leave a place that’s been a professional home for so long, but I’m pretty excited about a few new projects that are on the cusp of going from ‘pie in the sky’ to ‘near reality,'” Todd said. “So I’m grateful for the chance to get a jump start on my next chapter during this important moment. The ChuckToddcast is also coming with me (thank you NBC). Stay tuned for an announcement about its new home soon. Needless to say, I do plan to continue to share my reporting and unique perspective of covering politics with data and history as important baselines in understanding where we were, where we are and where we’re going.”

“The media has a lot of work to do to win back the trust of viewers/listeners/readers and I’m convinced the best place to start is from the bottom up,” Todd wrote in his memo. “At my core, I’m an entrepreneur — I spent my first 15 years professionally working for the company that started the political newsletter craze that dominates today. And this is a ripe moment. The only way to fix this information eco system is to stop whining about the various ways the social media companies are manipulating things and instead roll up our collective sleeves and start with local. National media can’t win trust back without having a robust partner locally and trying to game algorithms is no way to inform and report.”

NBC News said they are “grateful” for Todd’s “contributions” to the network in a statement following his announcement, Variety reported.

“We’re grateful for Chuck’s many contributions to our political coverage during his nearly two-decade career at NBC News and for his deep commitment to Meet the Press and its enduring legacy,” NBC News said. “We wish him all the best in his next endeavors.”

After nine years, Todd stepped down from hosting “Meet the Press” in September 2023 and passed the torch to its current host, Kristen Welker. While he still moderated the show, he brought the program into podcasting and launched a film festival in order to reach millennial audiences.

Todd was among the several staffers at NBC News who protested the hiring of former Republican National Committee chairwoman Ronna McDaniel as a paid contributor in March over her allegations that the 2020 presidential election was unfair. However, he gave credence to the now-debunked accusations that President Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign colluded with the Russian government to interfere in the election. The network decided to cut ties with McDaniel just two days after her debut on “Meet the Press.”

Todd also vowed to stifle debate about climate change during his run as host of “Meet the Press.” During a January 2019 episode of “Meet the Press,” Todd announced that he would no longer allow climate change skeptics to appear on the program to debate the contentious issue.

More veteran media hosts have exited their networks recently, most notably CNN’s Jim Acosta, who announced Tuesday that he was departing the network after nearly two decades after being asked to host his program during the midnight time slot.

US Jewish groups divided on Trump’s threat to deport campus anti-Israel protesters

Executive order signed Wednesday directs agencies to take ‘actions to remove’ non-citizen students who endorse terror. Some welcome the move amid concerns about rights violations

Jewish groups are offering mixed reactions to US President Donald Trump’s latest executive order on antisemitism that suggests that foreign-born anti-Israel student protesters could be deported.

Some say the order is taking advantage of Jewish fear to erode civil liberties and stoke fears about immigrants.

Others, including some of the largest US organizations, say they welcome efforts to improve the climate on college campuses — as long as civil and immigrant rights protections are applied.

And a few say they are ready and eager to help — and have even started supplying the Trump administration with names of protesters to target.

In the order issued Wednesday, Trump directed government departments to take “actions to remove” students who are not citizens and who endorse terrorism. The order is framed as an update on Trump’s 2019 executive order on antisemitism and includes several other provisions. It would fulfill some of Trump’s campaign promises to combat antisemitism on college campuses.

It would also sharply escalate the methods the government uses to fight antisemitism on campuses and beyond. It would link that effort with Trump’s vast campaign to deport millions of undocumented immigrants, which a range of Jewish groups oppose. Some of his allies had been pushing for such a move for months before his election. Marco Rubio, now Trump’s secretary of state, had called for such visas to be revoked while still a senator, as had Rep. Elise Stefanik, now the president’s nominee for United Nations ambassador.

Hamas’s October 7, 2023, terror onslaught on Israel “unleashed an unprecedented wave of vile anti-Semitic discrimination, vandalism, and violence against our citizens, especially in our schools and on our campuses,” the order says. “Jewish students have faced an unrelenting barrage of discrimination; denial of access to campus common areas and facilities, including libraries and classrooms; and intimidation, harassment, and physical threats and assault.”

The order also gives federal agencies 60 days to issue recommendations for fighting antisemitism. It also asks government officials to inventory Title VI antisemitism complaints and lawsuits alleging antisemitic discrimination on campus.

As with many of the executive orders issued by Trump in the 10 days since he took office — more than any other president has signed in the same period — relatively little is clear about how his administration plans to implement its most dramatic components.

The executive order cites a law that deems a non-citizen “inadmissible” who, among other things, “endorses or espouses terrorist activity or persuades others to endorse or espouse terrorist activity or support a terrorist organization.”

The order comes amid widespread concern about the climate on college campuses. Anti-Israel protests last spring caused many Jewish and pro-Israel students to feel unsafe; disrupted classes and activities at times; and, in some cases, included physical violence against Jewish and pro-Israel students.

“Operation Wrath of Zion" Aims to Dox and Deport Pro-Palestinian Protestors in New York City

Steered by a "right-wing Zionist" organization, the campaign is using facial-recognition technology to intimidate and out activists demonstrating against Israel

This week, President Donald Trump signed an executive order to cancel the visas of college students who protest in support of Palestine, opening the path to their deportation. A small company called Stellar Defense & Cyber Intelligence is ready to help by deploying AI technology to identify anonymous, masked pro-Palestinian protestors, through a campaign it refers to as “Operation Wrath of Zion.”

Stellar is the maker of NesherAI, a bespoke facial-recognition tool which it claims is capable of deanonymizing pro-Palestinian protestors. The name “Nesher” is Hebrew for “eagle,” the symbol for both NesherAI and the Terror Watch Agency, the brand under which it operates. Their slogan on social media is, “The Eagle listens, The Eagle watches, The Eagle knows.”

Stellar's CEO is “Eliyahu” Hawila, who garnered headlines several years ago when he faced allegations of deceiving the New York ultra-Orthodox Jewish community by posing as a member despite being a Lebanese Muslim—a story he now disputes.

Stellar advertises NesherAI as “an intelligence and mass surveillance project powered by AI, designed to support law enforcement and community security organizations in tracking terrorists, threat actors, and violent criminals.” The website also notes that the product is “marketed towards NGOs, activist groups, companies, and universities for profiling individuals with malicious intent, terrorist affiliations and online criminal behavior.”

Betar is a self-described “right-wing Zionist” youth movement that has made prominent use of the facial recognition tool. Together, they hope to feed the names of pro-Palestinian protestors to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and other law enforcement, according to statements made by both groups.

Betar has ties to Menachem Begin, the leader of the Zionist terrorist group Irgun, founder of the Likud party, and former prime minister of Israel. According to its own history, Betar’s early members “were active instigators of disturbances and violence, frequently bombing Arab civilian areas in response to attacks and waging guerilla [sic] warfare against the British,” sometimes referred to as “Jewish fascists.”

Jerusalem Post Targets MintPress After Exposé on Israeli Spies in US Media

In December, The Jerusalem Post published an investigation from Nicholas Potter, a “counter-extremism expert,” who falsely accused MintPress News of being part of a network of far-left, foreign government-funded outlets that push conspiracy theories and anti-Semitic extremism. The claims are untrue and are particularly ironic, considering the calls for the extermination and expulsion of Palestinians and Arab peoples the newspaper has published and because Potter is a German national whose job at the Post is directly funded by the German government.

“Flimsy” Research

The Jerusalem Post article attacked a series of MintPress investigations published late last year exploring the deep connections between U.S. media, the pro-Israel lobby, and the Israeli intelligence services. In this series, MintPress revealed that hundreds of former Israel lobbyists now work in top jobs in American corporate media, including for MSNBC, Fox News, CNN, and The New York Times. We also showed how former employees of an Israeli spying agency, Unit 8200, are trusted to write America’s news, including about Israel/Palestine – an enormous conflict of interest.

The virality of the two investigations, which were widely cited and read by hundreds of thousands of people across the world, seems to have upset many of Israel’s most ardent backers, including individuals at the Jerusalem Post, who warned about our influence.

“In both cases,” the Post wrote, “the evidence was flimsy at best,” adding:

In the former, a brief internship at AIPAC during college was all it took to be a part of an ominous conspiracy to control the media. In the latter, a previous stint as a reservist in Unit 8200 of the IDF’s Intelligence Corps was more than sufficient to brand a journalistic security analysis as a clandestine psychological operation.”

This is a disingenuous description of the information presented. Firstly, the evidence provided was far from flimsy. We noted dozens of high-profile instances of the hundreds of ex-Israel lobbyists we found working in American media. The nearly 6000-word article went into almost tedious detail, cataloging example after example, and, for brevity’s sake, had to be cut back from a much larger article.

EU rewards Israel for genocide by approving new drone deal

How deep is the European Union’s cooperation with Israel and firms that have profited from the Gaza genocide?

It is difficult to specify, not least because EU bodies are less than transparent. And that’s putting it politely.

Here’s an example of some cooperation that received hardly any attention.

In December, two weapons makers – Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) and Airbus – announced they had signed a “follow-on” contract with Frontex, the EU’s border guard agency.

Such announcements are intended to impress shareholders and potential clients, rather than to inform the public. Frontex itself did not promote the deal.

The announcement gave the impression that Frontex had renewed a contract, worth more than $50 million when it was originally clinched in 2020.

The firms announced that IAI’s Heron drone would be used to track refugees on perilous Mediterranean voyages for another four years.

Asked for a comment, a Frontex spokesperson stated that the contract “is based on a new open tender” rather than being an extension of a prior deal. The new contract is worth $192 million over a two year period.

The admission from Frontex actually makes matters worse. It shows that an EU agency approved a new deal involving Israel’s weapons industry in December – while Gaza was still being subjected to a genocide.

A Frontex spokesperson did not answer a question I raised about the genocide and the involvement of Israel’s weapons industry in it.

“The use of drones for our mandate enables the agency to support rescue operations in real time, act against illegal activities and thus ensure the safety of the Mediterranean and save lives,” the spokesperson added.

The claim that a deal with IAI is benign should be viewed with contempt.

In the first few months of Israel’s genocidal war against Gaza, IAI stated that its Herons were conducting round-the-clock surveillance for Israel. Many of the reservists operating those drones were IAI employees, and the company has described itself as “thoroughly embedded” with the Israeli military.

Polish MEP kicked out over ‘Jewish genocide’ comment

Grzegorz Braun called for a prayer for people killed in Gaza during a Holocaust commemorations at the EU Parliament,

Polish MEP Grzegorz Braun called on his fellow legislators to “pray for the victims of the Jewish genocide in Gaza” during a moment of silence in remembrance of Holocaust victims on Wednesday. He was swiftly asked to leave the chamber by European Parliament President Roberta Metsola.

In a post on X, the European Jewish Congress also denounced Braun’s action as a “vile display of antisemitism in the heart of European democracy.”

The politician made headlines in December 2023 when he used a fire extinguisher to put out Hanukkah candles during a ceremony at the Polish parliament. Braun said at the time that “there can be no place for the acts of this racist, tribal, wild Talmudic cult on these premises.”

Back in December 2023, Irish MEP Clare Daly from the left-wing Independents 4 Change party accused European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen of cheerleading for a “brutal apartheid regime that she calls a ‘vibrant democracy’.”

Earlier, Spanish Social Rights Minister Ione Belarra called out Brussels over its inaction in the face of what she called “genocide” in Gaza.

While several EU member states made symbolic gestures in support of the Palestinians, including by officially recognizing their state, Von der Leyen has staunchly supported Israel.

‘People in Our Government Supported Al-Qaeda’: Gabbard in Heated Exchange With Sen. Kelly

During the confirmation hearing for Director of National Intelligence, Senator Mark Kelly attacked nominee Tulsi Gabbard over her past criticisms of US policy in Syria. Kelly asserted that Gabbard was repeating Russian talking points, while Tulsi argued that she was exposing US support for al-Qaeda.

During Thursday’s Senate committee session, Sen. Kelly brought up Gabbard’s frequent criticism of US policy in Syria. He claimed that Gabbard was repeating Russian and Iranian talking points by discussing the US support for terror groups in Syria.

Gabbard fired back at Kelly, explaining why she viewed the policies of supporting terrorists as a personal affront, “as someone who enlisted in the military specifically because of Al Qaeda’s terrorist attack on 9/11 and committing myself and my life to doing what I could to defeat these terrorists.”

“It was shocking and a betrayal to me and every person who was killed on 9/11, their families, and my brothers and sisters in uniform.” She continued, “When as a member of Congress, I learned about President Obama’s, dual programs that he had begun, really to overthrow the regime of Syria and being willing to, through the CIA’s Timber Sycamore program that has now been made public, of working with and arming and equipping Al Qaeda in an effort to overthrow that regime, starting yet another regime change war in the Middle East.”

Even though Gabbard’s answer invoked her patriotism and call to service, Kelly again attacked the former Congresswoman as parroting Russian and Iranian points. “My concern has to do with the tendency to repeat Russian and Syrian and even in some cases, I think we’ll get into in the closed session, Iranian information and to discount what comes from our intelligence community.”

Gabbard responded definitively, “Senator, every American deserves to know that people in our own government were providing support to our sworn enemy, Al Qaeda. That should not be acceptable by anyone. Thank you.”

While Kelly may argue that Gabbard was repeating Russian and Iranian statements on the matter, legendary American journalist Seymour Hersh reported on the CIA program in 2014. “The Obama administration has never publicly admitted to its role in creating what the CIA calls a ‘rat line,’ a back channel highway into Syria,” he wrote in the London Review of Books. “The rat line, authorized in early 2012, was used to funnel weapons and ammunition from Libya via southern Turkey and across the Syrian border to the opposition. Many of those in Syria who ultimately received the weapons were jihadists, some of them affiliated with al-Qaida.”

The CIA program to fund and arm opposition groups began in 2012 and culminated in the overthrow of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in December. Assad was removed from power by Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), a designated Foreign Terrorist Organization.

HTS is led by Abu Mohammad al-Julani, who recently declared himself President of Syria without holding elections. Julani was a member of al-Qaeda in Iraq, who was moved to join the terrorist group after seeing the results of the 9/11 attack on the US.

At the time the Timber Sycamore program started, it was well known to the Obama administration that the opposition was mainly comprised of jihadist fighters. At the time, Jake Sullivan sent an email to then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton explaining, “AQ is on our side in Syria,” he wrote referring to al-Qaeda.

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs hit with new indictment expanding span of alarming sexual allegations to 20 years

Sean “Diddy” Combs once dangled a victim over an apartment balcony, prosecutors alleged in a new indictment that added two more victims and an earlier start date to the disgraced star’s alleged reign of sexual terror.

Combs, 55, sexually abused his victims for at least two decades from 2004 to 2024, federal prosecutors said in a superseding indictment filed Thursday. Previously, the earliest allegations dated to 2008.

The new indictment adds new accusations against the music mogul and expands the timeline of the alleged abuse — but does not include any new charges.

The two new anonymous victims were allegedly subjected to pre-arranged sexual encounters that often lasted multiple days, were sometimes recorded and regularly involved sex workers.

Combs “abused, threatened and coerced women and others around him to fulfill his sexual desires,” the indictment read, accusing him of using such tactics to force three unnamed women “to engage in commercial sex acts.”

Combs would keep the women “obedient and complaint” by feeding them narcotics, according to the superseding indictment.

Those acts were similar to the drug-fueled sex marathons Combs dubbed “Freak Offs,” but also included one-on-one assaults from him, the indictment read.

“Like the Freak Offs, these commercial sex acts involving Combs and a female victim were prearranged, sometimes lasted multiple days, were sometimes electronically recorded by Combs and often involved Combs distributing a variety of controlled substances to the victim, in part to keep the victim obedient and compliant,” the indictment read.

The hip-hop producer was also newly accused of “tracking [the victims’] whereabouts, dictating the victims’ appearance, monitoring their medical records, controlling their housing, and supplying them with controlled substances.”

Connecticut Bureaucrat Charged With Fraudulently Changing Republican Voter Registrations To Democrat

A Connecticut state mental health worker has been accused of fraudulently changing Republican voter registrations to Democrat following a September voting event.

Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services employee Arlanda Brantley, 57, faces “five counts each of Fraudulent Registration and Primary or Enrollment Violations,” according to Fox61. As the Hartford Courant reported, police arrested her Monday.

After a “national voting event” at the Western Connecticut Mental Health Network in Torrington, Connecticut on Sept. 17, Brantley allegedly changed “several” voter registration cards with an affiliation of “Republican” or “No” to “Democrat” “without the consent of the registrants.” Police said she then submitted the cards to the Torrington Registrar of Voters clerk, according to Fox61.

Officials noticed white out on the voter registrations, Torrington Registrar of Voters Clerk Melissa Russell told The Federalist. A “handful” of registrations — close to 10 — were affected, according to Russell. She said she does not know if Brantley altered registration cards in other jurisdictions, but the affected Torrington voters fixed their party affiliation before November’s election.

The Torrington Police Department and State Elections Enforcement Commission led the investigation, according to reports.

Police got a warrant for Brantley’s arrest and she turned herself in on Monday, reports say. As of Tuesday, she was out on a $10,000 bond and scheduled to appear in Torrington Superior Court on Feb. 10.

Republican state Rep. Joe Canino said he was “outraged” to hear about the fraud, adding that he and his team are “committed to fixing gaps in our election laws that allow these incidents to take place” through “increased enforcement of election related crimes, voter identification requirements, chain of custody requirements, and other proposals related to election security.”

“What was meant to be a non-partisan, state-led, voter registration event, has now been tainted by Ms. Brantley’s illegal actions,” Canino posted to Facebook on Tuesday. “Whether it’s this incident in Torrington, or down in Bridgeport where individuals were stuffing ballots into a drop box during the eleventh hour before an election, the bottom line is that voter fraud is happening in Connecticut.”

Republican State Rep. Craig Fishbein posted on X that he agrees with Canino, adding, “Voter fraud, and the intentional fabricating of voter registration information has NO PLACE in the State of Connecticut!”

Connecticut has a particularly concerning history of voter fraud. In Bridgeport, the state’s most populous city, a video surfaced in September 2023 apparently showing municipal employee Wanda Geter-Pataky — affiliated with the incumbent mayor’s campaign — stuffing ballot boxes, as The Federalist’s Mark Hemingway reported at the time. Following this evidence, a judge overturned the results and ordered a new election. Geter-Pataky and Democrat city councilman Alfredo Castillo also allegedly helped a “Spanish-speaking” noncitizen vote the same year, according to a complaint.

Brantley’s alleged fraud following September’s “national voting event” in Torrington recalls how “get-out-the-vote” efforts are vulnerable to bad actors. In the past, such campaigns have helped activists engage in things like data harvesting and partisan targeting of voters, as The Federalist has previously reported. Former President Joe Biden essentially ordered federal agencies to “get-out-the-vote” from left-leaning demographics through his “Bidenbucks” program, which Trump has since rescinded.
