James Douglas Bennet (born March 28, 1966) is an American journalist. He is currently the Editorial Page editor at The New York Times.

Douglas Joseph Bennet Jr. (June 23, 1938 – June 10, 2018) was an American political official and college president. He was the fifteenth president of Wesleyan University, in Middletown, Connecticut, from 1995 to 2007. Before that, he served as Assistant Secretary of State for International Organization Affairs in the Clinton Administration (1993–95) and Assistant Secretary of State for Legislative Affairs in the Carter administration (1977–79), was the President and CEO of National Public Radio (1983–93), and ran the U.S. Agency for International Development under President Carter (1979–81).

Michael Farrand Bennet (born November 28, 1964) is an American businessman, lawyer and politician serving as the senior United States Senator from Colorado, a seat he has held since 2009. A member of the Democratic Party, he was appointed to the seat when Ken Salazar resigned to become Secretary of the Interior. Bennet previously worked as managing director for the Anschutz Investment Company, chief of staff to then-Denver Mayor (and current Colorado Governor) John Hickenlooper, and superintendent of Denver Public Schools.
WIFE
Sarah Huntington Jessup is keeping her name. She graduated from Vassar College and received a master's degree in cultural anthropology from the University of Wisconsin and a doctorate in that subject from the University of Michigan. As a Fulbright fellow in 1997 and 1998, she studied Chinese opera in Shanxi Province, China. Her father retired as the director of training policy for the Agency for International Development in Washington. Her mother, until February a reporter for The Hartford Courant, is a freelance writer. The bride's stepmother, Pamela Russell Jessup, is an architect in Seal Harbor.
