Fatal Philly crash sees medical equipment littered 'everywhere' in McDonald's parking lot
A small plane crashed in Philadelphia on Friday night, scattering medical equipment and oxygen tanks across a McDonald's parking lot.
"There’s pieces everywhere," a police commander said as officers cleared the scene near Cottman Avenue and Roosevelt Boulevard.
The wreckage, including a medical oxygen tank, was found at least a quarter mile from the crash site.
Authorities have not confirmed how many people were aboard.
The FAA initially reported two occupants, butTransportation Secretary Sean Duffy later said six people were believed to be on board,heading to Springfield-Branson National Airport in Missouri.
Emergency crews rushed to the scene as fires broke out.
At least three homes near St. Vincent and Calvert streets caught fire, officials said.
The Philadelphia Office of Emergency Management warned residents to avoid the area aspolice ordered evacuations on foot, preventing vehicles from leaving.
