CBS News to hand over transcript of Harris’ ‘60 Minutes’ interview to FCC amid $10 billion Trump lawsuit

Trump sued CBS News over the interview in Oct., alleging that it was deceptively doctored to help Harris' chances in the election

CBS News announced it would comply with the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) demand that it turn over the transcript of a "60 Minutes" interview with former Vice President Kamala Harris that is the subject of President Trump’s lawsuit against the company.

The FCC, led by Trump appointee Brendan Carr, sent a letter of inquiry to the news company on Wednesday, requesting the "full, unedited transcript and camera feeds."

"We are working to comply with that inquiry as we are legally compelled to do," a CBS News spokesman said in a statement on Friday.

Arizona couple pleads guilty to $1.2 billion in health care fraud

A Phoenix couple has pleaded guilty to a health care fraud scheme that prosecutors say conned Medicare and other insurance providers out of more than a billion dollars in less than two years.

According to the U.S. Department of Justice, the couple made false and fraudulent claims for expensive, medically unnecessary treatment that were applied to elderly and terminally ill patients.

Federal officials identified the couple on Friday as Alexandra Gehrke, 39, and her husband, Jeffrey King, 46,

Prosecutors say Gehrke ran two companies, Apex Medical LLC and Viking Medical Consultants LLC, with untrained sales representatives who would locate older patients and those in hospice who had wounds.

Those reps would then order those unique amniotic wound grafts from a specific distributor. Through that tactic, the feds say she received over $279 million in illegal kickbacks from the graft distributor.

Meanwhile, King’s company allegedly fraudulently billed Medicare, TRICARE, CHAMPVA, and other insurance providers for the grafts.

Between November 2022 and May 2024, the couple reportedly submitted $1.212 billion in fake claims to health insurance plans.

As part of their plea deal, they’ve been ordered to pay back the money as restitution and have forfeited over $410 million in funds obtained from the reported fraud.

Both face up to 20 years in prison. Gehrke is scheduled to be sentenced on Feb. 11, while a sentencing date for King has not yet been set.

>Ellen Greenberg case

On January 26, 2011, a blizzard hit Philadelphia, prompting Greenberg to leave work and return to her apartment. At approximately 6:40 p.m., Greenberg was pronounced dead as a result of 20 stab wounds, including 10 to her back and neck. There were also 11 bruises in various stages of resolution[8] on her right arm, abdomen, and right leg.

Her body was discovered by her fiancé, Samuel Goldberg, who returned from a gym to find their apartment deadbolted, and knocked down the door after trying for an hour to reach her.

The crime scene was initially treated as a suicide by the police investigators, but after the autopsy the Philadelphia Medical Examiner's Office ruled the case as a homicide. The next day, the Philadelphia Police Department differed with that conclusion, saying, "the death of Ellen Greenberg has not been ruled a homicide […] Homicide investigators are considering the manner of death as suspicious at this time." The medical examiner's office then changed its conclusion, saying the death was a suicide in February 2011.
