Navy fires commanding officer of Naval Information Warfare Training Group Norfolk

Sarah M. Quemada was fired on Thursday “due to a loss of confidence in her ability to command.” No specific reason for her relief was given.

Updated on Jan 16, 2025

Navy Cmdr. Sarah M. Quemada has been fired as the commanding officer of Naval Information Warfare Training Group Norfolk in Virginia “due to a loss of confidence in her ability to command,” the service announced on Thursday.

Rear Adm. Brian A. Harding, commander of Naval Information Warfighting Development Center, relieved Quemada on Thursday, a Navy news release says. No information was immediately available about the specific reason for her firing.

“The Navy maintains the highest standards for commanding officers and holds them accountable when those standards are not met,” the news release says. The service confirmed that Quemada was the first commanding officer fired in 2025.(sounds like more to come)

The military services often use the euphemism “loss of confidence” to avoid explaining exactly why commanders have been relieved. Officers and senior enlisted leaders can be fired for a variety of reasons ranging from poor leadership to issues outside of work, such as being arrested for driving under the influence.

“Naval Information Warfare Training Group (NIWTG) Norfolk advances the fleet’s information warfare warfighting (IW) readiness through operational-based training, highly experienced IW deployers, and IW mission data management in support afloat and ashore commands to deliver decisive advantages in the maritime domain,” according to the group’s website.

Quemada assumed command of NITWG Norfolk in June 2023. She has now been temporarily reassigned to Naval Information Forces. Capt. Steve McIntyre has been named the group’s temporary commanding officer until a permanent replacement can be designated.

Originally from Washington State, Quemada enlisted in the Navy in 2005 and was commissioned as an ensign two years later after completing Officer Candidate School in Newport, Rhode Island, according to her official biography.

After becoming a cryptologist, she volunteered for a 390-day Individual Augmentation to Combined Joint Special Operations Task Force-Afghanistan, during which she performed intelligence support to village stability operations.

Her previous assignments also include serving as the assistant branch chief to Cyber Pursuit and Exploitation at NSA / CSS Threat Operations Center, Hawaii, and as officer-in-charge for Cryptologic Warfare Group SIX Detachment, Digby.

Incredible images capture US Navy testing its new laser weapon

17:07 EST 03 Feb 2025,

READ MORE: US military launches missile tests hours after 2024 election

The US Navy has released stunning images showing its incredible new drone-destroying laser weapon in action for the first time.

The HELIOS system was tested aboard the USS Preble, with photos capturing its bright beam shooting an unmanned aerial vehicle out of the sky.

HELIOS, which stands for High Laser with Integrated Optical-dazzler and Surveillance, was developed by Lockheed Martin in 2021 and delivered to the Navy a year later.

The system blasts more than 60 kilowatts of directed energy, enough to power up to 60 homes, at the speed of light and can hit targets up to five miles away.

It is designed to counter a range of threats, including drones, small boats, and potentially incoming missiles.

HELIOS was also designed to disrupt the intelligence and reconnaissance sensors on enemy vessels.

The testing comes as threats against America's warships are growing as foreign nations stock their arsenals with drones and anti-ship missiles.

The US Naval Institute said in a recent report: The drone threat has been around for years, but the Navy has yet to prioritize defending against these easily acquired weapons.'

'Expecting sailors who shoot shotguns, rifles, or machine guns twice a year on a range to be able to engage multiple small, fast-moving targets is unreasonable, 'the report added.

'Even if a few sailors were expert shooters capable of shooting down drones, it likely would take a few minutes from the first report of a potential drone to identify the drone, raise the alarm, and bring key weapons and associated ammunition to bear against the threat—time the ship might not have.'

But the Navy sees its new HELIOS as a way to fight back, showing off its capabilities on the open ocean.

The US Center for Countermeasures (CCM) released details on the testing, SWNS reported.

The images showed the beam targeting a drone above the ship, shooting it down in a ball of flames.

'CCM supported the Navy’s demonstration on USS Preble (DDG 88) to verify and validate the functionality, performance, and capability of the HEL with Integrated Optical Dazzler and Surveillance system against an unmanned aerial vehicle target, it shared in a report.

The weapon was integrated into the ship's combat system, enhancing its target detection and tracking capabilities.

HELIOS can fire for as long as it has power, which it collects from the ship.

And because the ship's power source is constantly replenished, the laser has an unlimited supply of power.

The test comes as aHomeland Security Advisor and billionaire Marc Andreessensuggested AI-powered jets will be the main fighters in future wars.

Speaking on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast in November, Andreessen said jets that travel five times the speed of sound, Mach 5, are going to be more common 'within a few years.'

'Imagine a thousand of these things coming over the horizon right at you,' Andreessen said. 'It really changes the fundamental equation of war.'

He explain that instead of needing the most soldiers and material to win, people with the most technology and money will take over.

Andreessen also noted that there are 'a bunch of reasons' why he believes a future of AI-piloted fighter jets is all but inevitable.

'Part of it is simply the speed of processing,' Andreessen explained.

'But the other big thing is, if you don't have a human in the plane, you don't have […] 'the Spam in the Can.''

'You don't have the human body in the plane to keep alive, which means you can be a lot faster,' the billionaire White House advisor continued, 'much higher G-forces.'

How many Senators and Congressmen get USAID for their pet propaganda projects? Is there a lot more Democrats than Republicans? How many countries that are enemies of the US get this Aid. I know Ukraine was freaking out because their Disinformation/Propaganda centers trained under Nina Jankowicz were defunded. They are asking European countries to replace their loss.

Lots of democrats complaining about egg prices, blaming Trump, so is that what they really want to use the money for, "EGGS". Is eggs a code word for something else?

How many Congressman and Senators get USAID for their causes, then the dole it out to NGOs and then the NGOs kick back to themfor the Fundraising for re-election, but use it for their own lives, is that how Ocasio got rich over a couple of years?

There's many ways to do this. How about all those foreign trips, the country gets the AID and the congressman takes trips there paid for by the poor country, and their corrupt leaders. When they get there the countries gives them gifts, like Menendez Gold bars, etc.

now its time to find the hidden funds FBI stole to give to contractors. One Marine that was arrested for J6 was told they would pay him $22,000 a month for life to be an undercover contractors to turn in J6ers. He turned it down and ended up in jail. The FBI agent said it would be tax free for life. I'll find the articles, but where is the FBI's dark fund? When they steal people valuables in raids, is that is what its for? Remember they raided lock boxes in a bank and were refusing to give the money etc back. There excuse was to find one drug dealers box, but opened all of them and seized everyone's belongings.

Seems quite possible all IC agencies have dark funds hidden. Those should be next

>>22501149 @StateDept - The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has long strayed from its original mission of responsibly advancing American interests abroad, and it is now abundantly clear that significant portions of USAID funding are not aligned with the core national interests of the United States.PN

Just wait until SOS Marco Rubio starts auditing the budget of the US Dept of State, is you think USAID is bad, the whole org may be much worse. Probably catastrophic. Plus the Hidden funds of CIA that work hand in hand with DOS. They probably have a trillion ir more hidden with the goal of destroying America.

Every agency needs to be audited NIH has a higher budget in some respects to the US Military.

PS: President Trump take the money back that Congress gave to FBI to build a new billion dollar building or more. The DS threatens congress and they cave to the corruption
