FCC probes Soros-backed radio station that doxed ICE agents during California deportation operation
"The FCC will hold broadcasters accountable for complying with their public interest obligations."
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has launched an investigation into a radio station backed by leftist billionaire George Soros that revealed the locations of undercover Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents.
A stake in more than 200 Audacy radio stations across the United States was purchased by a Soros-backed group last year. Among those stations was the San Francisco-based KCBS 740, which revealed the live locations of undercover ICE vehicles and agents that were conducting deportation operations around San Jose.
The FCC's Enforcement Bureau has reportedly sent a formal Letter of Inquiry to the station as part of an investigation Fox News Digital. The bureau is continuing to inquire as to whether the station, which is licensed to operate by the FCC, is in violation of the terms of its FCC license. The license requires that the station operate in the "public interest." The letter reportedly noted that the ICE agents targeted were operating in an area at the time known for violent gang activity.
"I want to express my thanks and appreciation to DHS and ICE agents. These law enforcement professionals are honorably serving this country and carrying out vital missions. Their safety is paramount. The FCC will hold broadcasters accountable for complying with their public interest obligations," Carr told Fox News.
"Here's what's happening," host Bret Burkhart said during a January 26 broadcast. "San Jose Mayor Matt Mahan and head councilmember Peter Ortiz confirmed today that US Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents are currently carrying out an operation on the east side of town. The Santa Clara County Rapid Response Network, which is a community defense projecting system for immigrant communities against deportation threats, first reported the activity on its platforms."
"The county response network said agents in San Jose were in unmarked vehicles, including a black [omitted], a gray [omitted], and a white [omitted]. ICE agents were also reported outside a residence on South [omitted] roads, and officers were reportedly at the target on [omitted]," he continued. "Stay with KCBS, we will be tracking it for you."
This comes as federal authorities are currently carrying out mass deportation operations across the United States at the direction of President Trump, targeting violent illegal immigrants convicted and/or charged with serious crimes, including murder, child rape, and assault with deadly weapons.
