According to the latest information, "dozens of people" have died in the mass shooting in Örebro. The authorities do not seem to want to give an exact death toll on Tuesday evening.
"Why we cannot specify more at the moment is that the damage is so large," said Police Area Chief Roberto Eid Forest, at a press conference in the evening.
During another press conference, Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson described the attacks as "the worst mass shooting in Sweden's history".
The suspected shooter is described by the police as a lone perpetrator with no connection to criminal gangs or terrorism. The media described him as "a loner who disliked being around people".
"It's difficult to take in the extent of what has happened today. The darkness that is settling over Sweden tonight," said the Prime Minister.
