Veteran Jewish American actor Wallace Shawn, 81, known for his roles in "Princess Bride," "Clueless," "Toy Story" and "Young Sheldon," is no stranger to criticizing Israel and supporting pro-Palestinian activists. Since the start of the Gaza war, he has been a regular participant in demonstrations and events organized by anti-Zionist organizations across the United States, but now he is raising the bar in his statements, comparing Israel to Nazi Germany and accusing Israelis who support the Netanyahu government of "temporary insanity."

During an interview he gave on a podcast hosted by Jewish author and comedian Katie Halper, the 81-year-old Shawn compared Israel to the Nazis and accused the country of “demonic evil.”

The Israelis “invaded somebody else’s territory, they took people’s homes, and they did many of the things that the Nazis did to the Jews,” Shawn said.

CIA offers buyouts to entire workforce as it seeks to infuse 'renewed energy': report

The CIA , America's decades-old civilian foreign intelligence service tasked with intelligence gathering around the world, joined other federal agencies Tuesday in offering buyouts — to its entire workforce, according to a report.

The agency appears to be the first intelligence agency to tell workers they can take Elon Musk's signature buyouts, in which employees can take eight months of pay and benefits if they quit, the Wall Street Journal reported Tuesday night.

The report noted that the agency also entered a hiring freeze for people who've been given a conditional offer. Additionally, some will likely have their offers rescinded if they "don't have the right background for the agency's new goals," the report said. Those goals include implementing Trump's tariffs and "undermining China."

“There’s no statutory authority that I can see for the president making this offer,” Sen. Tim Kaine (D-VA) told the Journal.

Kaine, who previously warned federal workers Trump would stiff them with the deal, said doing so comes with risk. “The administration immediately knows, you don’t want to work for me. They’ll find some other way to get rid of you. You should not raise your hand.”

A CIA spokeswoman told the paper the agency under new Director John Ratcliffe hopes to “infuse the agency with renewed energy.” An aide for Ratcliffe, meanwhile, said extending the buyout packages to his agency could open up paths for the CIA to become more aggressive — including spying on countries in the Western Hemisphere that aren't colloquially considered adversaries.

The news comes days after the government’s human resources agency distributed a memo saying it would subject all federal workers to “enhanced standards of suitability and conduct” and warned of mass cuts. The email was sent to millions of employees and said those who left voluntarily would receive about eight months of salary, but they'd have to do so by Feb. 6.

Australian neo-Nazis suspended from X

Australia’s most prominent neo-Nazis have been banished from Elon Musk’s X platform in an apparent crackdown on homegrown extremism.

National Socialist Network leaders Thomas Sewell and Blair Cottrell had their accounts suspended on Tuesday, two days after this masthead reported Australian white supremacists were thriving on the platform and generating millions of views on posts often vilifying minority groups and calling for a white Australia.

The profiles of the two Melbourne men were shut down along with those of at least four other leading members of the Australian neo-Nazi movement that recently held rallies in the streets of Adelaide, where 16 members were arrested, and on the steps of Victorian Parliament where they held up a banner reading “JEWS HATE FREEDOM”.

It is not yet clear if Australian agencies sought the bans, which come at a time of heightened concern about antisemitic incidents and ASIO’s warnings about a probable terror attack driven by mixes of “twisted” ideologies – including anti-government conspiracy theories, racism, Islamist extremism and neo-Nazism – blending with social media-fuelled personal grievance.

The eSafety Commissioner, Julie Inman Grant, who along with the Coalition raised the alarm about the neo-Nazi rise in this masthead’s report on Sunday, has been contacted for comment, as has the office of Home Affairs Minister Tony Burke.

Joel Davis, an Australian neo-Nazi whose account was not suspended, reacted with fury to the news on Tuesday, while other far-right accounts complained about the apparent clamp instituted by Musk’s anti-censorship platform.

“These two men and several other nationalists were all censored off X this evening in a clear co-ordinated mass banning most likely requested by some department of the Australian government,” he wrote on X.

“No doubt you don’t agree with many of our views, but these are political figures of serious notoriety in Australia. Unelected bureaucrats shouldn’t have the right to sabotage the voice of its own citizens on ideological grounds.”

White supremacists and leaders of the National Socialist Network were previously banned or censored on X before returning as the platform reduced moderation, removed all staff in Australia and reinstated thousands of banned accounts.

Meta’s Mark Zuckerberg has announced similar moves on fact-checking at the same time as Labor sought to clamp down on social media, including a ban on teens under 16 using certain sites.

Central Coast residents told to boil water

Up to 40,000 New South Wales Central Coast residents have been warned to boil their tap water after the discovery of harmful E. coli in the area's water supply.

The bacteria was found during routine testing of the supply reservoir at Terrigal.

Affected suburbs include Terrigal, Erina, Erina Heights, Kincumber, Avoca Beach, North Avoca, Copacabana, MacMasters Beach and Picketts Valley — home to tens of thousands of people.

The alert has sparked a rush on bottled water at supermarkets.

'Sweating bullets'

Lisarow resident Leigh Rijff told ABC Central Coast she drank a glass of tap water at a friend's house at Copacabana yesterday.

"A couple of hours afterwards I started getting hot flushes, started sweating bullets and next thing you know my tummy and bowels all went," she said.

"It lasted a couple of hours and then it disappeared again.

"It wasn't until hubby saw it [the boil water advice] on Facebook and mentioned it, I realised that may have been what it was."

California Passes $50M Bill To Resist Trump Agenda

On Monday, Democrats in the California State Legislature passed a $50 million spending bill aimed at resisting President Donald Trump’s agenda, a move that has received widespread mockery and criticism.

As Breitbart reports, two separate bills were passed by the State Senate; after an initial delay by Democrats in the State Assembly, the bills were approved and now head to the desk of Governor Gavin Newsom (D-Calif.) for his signature.

The bills are expected to primarily fund legal challenges to the president’s planned policies. Half of the funding, $25 million, will go to the office of California Attorney General Rob Bonta (D-Calif.) and the California Department of Justice, in order “to mitigate the impacts of actions taken by the federal government.”

The remaining $25 million will go to organizations and nonprofits that provide legal assistance to illegal aliens and other immigration-focused groups.

Republicans in the legislature attempted to propose an amendment that would forbid the funds from being used to defend illegals who committed additional crimes in the United States, but Democrats rejected those efforts.

These bills come as Southern California is still reeling from wildfires that have ravaged the Los Angeles area, causing up to $275 billion in damages and killing nearly 30 Californians. Despite the anti-Trump tone of the most recently passed bills, the state government is nevertheless expected to seek hundreds of billions in aid from the Trump Administration.
