Two of the most influential bastions in Resistance Media are about to find out their taxpayer-funded, left-wing hit pieces do not fly with the the Trump administration.

The chairman of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has launched an investigation into NPR and PBS over concerns that the public broadcasters may be airing commercials in violation of federal law.

Brendan Carr, appointed by former President Donald Trump to lead the agency, sent a letter to NPR CEO Katherine Maher and PBS President and CEO Paula Kerger notifying them of the probe.

“I am concerned that NPR and PBS broadcasts could be violating federal law by airing commercials,” Carr wrote. “In particular, it is possible that NPR and PBS member stations are broadcasting underwriting announcements that cross the line into prohibited commercial advertisements.”

Public broadcasters are legally prohibited from airing traditional commercials. Instead, they rely on corporate underwriting spots, which may acknowledge sponsors but cannot explicitly encourage audiences to purchase a product or service.

President Donald Trump is flooding the zone with swift action that is overwhelming the establishment media, which appears unable, ill-equipped, or too lazy to report the flurry of activity.

Opinionists at major news outlets have begun whining about their newsrooms’ inability to keep up with the increased flow of Trump’s executive orders, newsworthy comments, and changes within federal agencies.

Just in the past few days, Trump has fired DOJ officials, planned to close the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), deported hundreds of illegal aliens, placed tariffs on Canada and Mexico and then paused them, and signed the Laken Riley Act into law.

“There is so much winning out of the Trump White House that the mainstream legacy media can’t keep up with it,” White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said Monday.

After years of “sleepy Joe” Biden’s tenure in the White House, many media personalities say they are already worn out from covering Trump and his resurgent drive to deliver the “Golden Age of America.

Rex Huppke whined in a USA Today opinion piece that Trump’s return to the White House is living a “nightmare over and over again” that produces “shock.” He advised readers to “protest where you can” and help “those harmed” by Trump’s actions.

Americans’ trust in the establishment media to report current events “fully, accurately and fairly” plummeted to a record low in 2024, Gallup polling found in October. The decline in trust indicates the media lost credibility due to pushing false narratives, such as Hunter Biden’s laptop story, Russian collusion, the source of the 2020 pandemic, the January 6 investigation, and numerous hoaxes.

The new head of the DNC, Ken Martin, a party lifer from Minnesota, struck a sour note in his victory speech.

"I've always viewed my role as a chair of the Democratic Party to take the low road so my candidates and elected officials can take the high road," Martin said.

"So, Donald Trump, Republican Party: This is a new DNC. We are not going to sit back and not take you on when you fail the American people."

If it really were a new DNC, Dems would have a fighting chance of winning back public trust. Instead, they are living examples of the maxim that insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.
