"CNN This Morning Weekend" co-anchor Amara Walker is leaving the news network after more than a decade.

In a Thursday statement, Walker said she decided to "seize on this moment of change in our industry and take a hiatus from TV news."

"I'm a journalist at heart, but I have other professional passions as well. The timing couldn't be better to embark on the next chapter," she added. "I have other professional goals that I haven't been able to pursue given my full-time commitment to a breaking news TV schedule. I'm excited about all that is to come and the opportunities that lie ahead."

Erica Roach, the chief financial officer of the Office of Personnel Management, has resigned, after being pushed from her role by DOGE.

An ABC News reporter posted about the news to X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday evening, citing "sources familiar with the move," and Business Insider reported that Roach confirmed the news but declined to comment further.

Liz Cheney's past USAID employment faces backlash after lashing out at Elon Musk.

"Damn right, @Elon," Cheney said on X in response to Musk, tagging an account that does not belong to Musk, on Wednesday. "I’m proud of what America did to win the Cold War, defeat Soviet communism, and defend democracy. Our nation stood for freedom. You may be unfamiliar with that part of our history since you weren’t yet an American citizen."

Musk had written "interesting" in response to a post from Foundation For Freedom Online Executive Director Mike Benz, who had written that Cheney was "spawned" out of USAID, citing her previous position as an officer for the embattled and now seemingly shuttered agency.

Cheney spent time at USAID working within embassies related to efforts in Poland, Hungary, Russia and Ukraine.

Minnesota House Republicans currently hold a 67-66 majority with one vacancy in a seat previously held by a Democratic lawmaker, which will be filled after a special election in March.
