Russia ruled the world. Then something happened. And we were left with their creations with no explanations. So we made them up, in the middle ages. We concocted fantastic tales of empires and pirates. Of New Worlds and Old. Bowed down to the god we credited, but ultimately it was the Russians.
Of course, not the MODERN DAY Russians, they're the closest decedents of these mysterious people. But they know the truth. They know what year it is. Putin knows what year it is. He knows why Georgia and Crimea are important.
