I think there are two things happening. He is playing a recruited role in a coup AND he legitimately won.
I'm just suggesting that the legitimacy isn't supported by the vote because, at a minimum, the election is completely rigged, and at a maximum, it's so rigged that it would be impossible to make any forensic deductions to support either way. Hence, "the corruption is so widespread." It's more about the threat of force by the military and the overwhelming qualitative support by the deplorables.
