Seems like a big story to have so few views? Dunno, maybe because small number of followers, or being suppressed? There is a telegram link as the image watermark on the photos and video. But have not looked on telegram to see if any more can be learned here. Also did not download video because, after viewing it on X, felt it really didn't add anything useful.
Yeah, it's unclear to me if these are meant for recreational use by Russian troops in their off duty time. Or if they actually have some sort of military application. I suspect they might be for attack drone control as a peripheral accessory to the main flight control system. But this is only speculation on my part.

If the pitot tube heater failed, or it was somehow accidentally switched off. Then it starts to freeze up. As the opening started to freeze over less and less air would be let in. This would result in both the pilot seeing airspeed decrease (when in fact it was not) AND the ADS to broadcast the same faulty information. If the pilot sees airspeed dropping off he thinks he is in danger of stalling the aircraft. What do you do in that situation? You put the nose down and exchange altitude for airspeed. The Nome area experienced freezing rain, light snow and fog on Thursday, according to the National Weather Service. So they likely were flying in the blind and under icing conditions. A frozen pitot and being unable to see the ground may have resulted in semi-controlled flight into terrain.
Wanted to add. That's if the plane broadcasts airspeed, apparently not all do. All of this assumes GPS is either not available or not being used by the pilot. Unknown if GPS speed was part of ADS signal. It could be, but depends on the system in that aircraft.
