The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases(NIAID) has awarded grants to Haiti through the Haitian Group for the Study of Kaposi's Sarcoma and Opportunistic Infections (GHESKIO). GHESKIO is a Haitian organization that conducts research, service, and training in HIV/AIDS.
Eligibility
Foreign institutions can apply for most NIH research project grants.
The research must meet the NIAID mission.
The research must include resources, talent, populations, or environmental conditions that are not in the United States.
The research must not be conducted in the United States.
Requirements for foreign investigators
Foreign investigators must remain at a U.S. institution long enough to finish their project.
Foreign investigators must state in their application that their visa allows them to remain in the U.S. long enough to be productive on the project.
