It's backed by faith. People accept dollars because they have faith they can exchange it for goods and services. When money is made of gold, the faith is in the gold. For the dollar, the faith is in us. We the People back the dollar.
It's value is whatever people place on it.

Nope. The dollar is readily acceptable, can be hard to counterfeit if they want it to be, and would be limited if they weren't printing as much as they want. The problem isn't the currency, it's what's behind it.

No you misunderstand. There's a difference between prophesy happening and someone making it happen. What if the mark isn't Gold, but some really really want others to believe it is, so they don't want you to be able to buy or sell without it?

It's supposed to work that way, but for some reason we have 1 of 3 branches of federal government (judicial) overruling the limits We the People placed on government saying it's ok for government to do what We the People said they can't do. Somewhere along the line people started to believe that branch has a lot more power than it does.
