Donald Trump says there will be "no exemptions" to his 25 per cent tariffs on steel and aluminium imports, although he is considering one for Australia.
The US president signed executive orders in the Oval Office late on Monday, local time, introducing the tariffs.
What's next?
Mr Trump and Australian PM Anthony Albanese discussed the possibility of an exemption for Australia during a phone call on Tuesday morning AEDT, but provided no timeline for a decision.
