Understand that's all part of the plan too, but seriously the brand stinks at the moment. Deep house cleaning is needed at minimum with visible arrests of the real players behind the scenes and no light hearted slaps on the wrist.

Anon had thought along these lines. Take the valuable property off the table and effectively wall off the tribe so that the "good" ones can take care of the "bad" ones or at least keep the chaos and evil contained in one small place.
Offer any and all free repatriation to them if they're accepted and then just cut off anything other than humanitarian funding.
Might even consider heavily filtering their internet / space access and systems.
Needs arrest and incarceration
Forget the tanks for a moment. Consider the amount of Canada that's within operational range of our F22's (and F35's, and F-16's, and…). Now consider how many sorties could be flown with the resources of our airbases in the homeland.
By the time Canada could muster anything approaching an organized response, everything of military value would have already been seized or destroyed.
Same W/ Mexico. And God help them if they decided to ask for "allies" to come help them. The US would literally be at all-out war footing as allowing another superpower to establish a beachhead on the continent would have every single military asset and person on their way home with the wrath of God riding shotgun.
This is NOT the way Canada. This is NOT the way Mexico.
By the time any superpower could land troop, somehow bypassing 12 carrier groups, subs, and all reporting measures available to us, what would you wager would happen to a mortal enemy of the US that's within driving distance?!?!!?
