Why is polygamy an issue?

This anon once had a tousle w/spouse and hottie anon. Hottie anon knowingly fibbed, told anon it was 'safe', wanted a tiny anon in my image/likeness. Why is it taboo to marry all the women w/your children but normal to allow them to go it alone? Upon reflection, anon has questions.

Oh, I did, a few years later, after some persuasion and w/spouses blessing, I gave her another.
