Bill O'Reilly had a rather interesting conversation with News Nation's Chris Cuomo regarding the move by the Department of Justice to sue New York Attorney General Letitia James and Gov. Kathy Hochul, alleging failure to properly follow illegal immigration laws. While the news was initially framed as filing "charges," it appears to be the DOJ taking civil action, not criminal action, in regard to the issue.
O'Reilly appeared to frame the moves as an effort by President Donald Trump to "get" James, when it is about making the various blue cities like New York comply with immigration law. It's what he was elected to do; it's not "retribution."
He also notes that Trump doesn't include Eric Adams because he doesn't matter, according to O'Reilly. I'm not sure I agree with that — maybe he doesn't include Adams because Adams has been cooperative in trying to deal with the problem of illegal immigration of late, even agreeing to reopen the ICE office on Rikers Island.
But the thing he said that I found interesting was when he said he'd gotten "call after call after call" from people — "all of these people who have agendas" — and they're saying that Adams "knows where the bodies are buried" when it comes to Letitia James and Alvin Bragg. You can see Chris Cuomo's eyebrows raise at that tantalizing tidbit. O'Reilly said he wasn't saying it was true, but passing along what he was being told. "But It kind of makes sense," he said. One has to wonder what that information might entail. It sounds like juicy "grab the popcorn stuff." Yes, please, Adams, spill whatever you might have; I'm sure it would be illuminating.
O'Reilly then went on to predict that California Gov. Gavin Newsom would be "next" on the list of officials being sued. “The big power is Newsom in California. Newsom’s next. Hey, Gavin, they’re coming for you!” O’Reilly said. That appears a completely logical conclusion based on the DOJ's actions so far and Newsom's recalcitrance on the issue of illegal immigration in his state. O'Reilly also predicted that in all this, "Pritzker is going to get destroyed" and Trump would "bring down" James and Bragg. Again, disagree with O'Reilly's phrasing that seems to make it about retribution versus justice, but it couldn't happen to a more deserving bunch if it does.

Property taxes are local, not state. So we’d need to do a constitutional amendment (requires 60% of voters to approve) to eliminate them (which I would support) or even to reform/lower them…
We should put the boldest amendment on the ballot that has a chance of getting that 60%…
I agree that taxing land/property is the more oppressive and ineffective form of taxation…

New York state Democrats proposed a bill in January that would require all students over the age of eight to learn about the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot.
Introduced by Assemblymembers Charles Lavine, Deborah Glick and Tony Simone, bill A3966 would amend the state’s education law to mandate lessons on the event in all K-12 schools, appearing alongside lessons on slavery and the Holocaust in the bill’s text.
The lessons are meant “to promote a spirit of patriotic and civic service and obligation and to foster in the children of the state moral and intellectual qualities which are essential in preparing to meet the obligations of citizenship in peace or in war,” the bill’s text states. The courses are considered to be “instruction in patriotism, citizenship, civic education and values, our shared history of diversity, the role of religious tolerance in this country, and human rights issues.”
“Not since the War of 1812, when British forces set fire to the Capitol, have the halls of power in Washington been overtaken by violent intruders as they were on Jan. 6,” Lavine said, according to the Long Island Press. “Our students, in order to be able to protect, maintain and advance American democracy, must know what happened on that day and must be aware of those events in order to protect American democracy.”
The legislation was announced shortly after President Donald Trump pardoned around 1,500 Jan. 6 protesters, calling the prosecution of the demonstrators “outrageous.”
