Labeled the “Conception Begins at Erection Act,” this bill, if passed, would criminalize men for having unprotected sex without the intent to conceive, branding it as a felony with fines up to $10,000 per incident.

Proposed by Democrat State Representatives Anita Somani and Tristan Rader, this legislation seems more suited for a satire column than the state’s legal framework.

This bill, which Somani admits is more about making a statement than actual policy, includes exceptions for contraception use, masturbation, sperm donation, and the LGBTQ+ community.
