Ukraine Receives Missile System Disguised As "Ordinary" Shipping Container

BFBS Forces News war correspondent Simon Newton, covering all things Ukraine, reported that the UK has begun supplying surface-to-air missiles that can be launched from within modified shipping containers.

"Gravehawk has been developed from scratch in just 18 months and will be used to combat Russian aircraft, missiles and drones," Newton wrote, adding, "It's highly innovative, relatively cheap – and deadly."

He said the surface-to-air missiles are mounted on a launch pad in an "ordinary ISO shipping container, meaning it can be quickly deployed on the back of a lorry, known as a Drops vehicle."

Jimmy Rushton, a Kyiv-based foreign policy and security analyst, wrote on X, "Russia has to contend with a scenario where any shipping container in Ukraine - and there are tens of thousands - could potentially be concealing one of these systems."

Outfitting missile systems in ordinary shipping containers is not a new concept.

A paper published in the International Law Studies journal in 2021 outlined that China has been reportedly "developing long-range cruise missiles that can be fired from standard shipping containers loaded on merchant vessels."

Sir Evelyn de Rothschild, one of the world’s most renowned financiers, has been accused of abusing his position at NM Rothschild to sexually harass and assault female colleagues, according to The Guardian.

Hegseth: US Will Expedite Weapons Sales to Europe

Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth said that the US will accelerate weapon deliveries to its allies in Europe. Initially, the proposal was made by NATO Chief Mark Rutte, and received mixed reviews from European powers.

On Thursday, speaking at a press conference alongside Secretary-General Rutte, Hegseth explained, “Foreign Military Sales [is] something the United States is committed to Expediting the process of ensuring that our allies get what they need when they need it.”

Currently, the alliance requires its members to spend 2% of GDP on defense, a standard some nations fail to meet. Hegselth said multiple times during his trip to Europe that Washington wants its allies to spend 5% of GDP on the military.

Hegseth claimed the increased spending and expedited arms production are needed to “ensure we’re able to meet the threats of the future whether that’s Russia on the continent or an ascendant China who has their own ambitions.”

Trump’s policy will be a boon to the US arms industry, which is already operating at capacity and reporting record sales.

The plan for the US to accelerate Foreign Military Sales was first made by Rutte. At the time, European countries had split reactions to the proposal. France sees additional US arms sales as cutting into the European market, while Germany supports the plan.

Hamas Releases Three Hostages But Trump Restates Demand To Release All of Them

Trump previously said that if Hamas did not release all Israeli captives on Saturday, Israel would have a greenlight to break the ceasefire

Following the release of three hostages, including one with an American, President Donald Trump restated his demand that all Israeli captives must be released from Gaza today.

“Hamas has just released three Hostages from GAZA, including an American Citizen. They seem to be in good shape! This differs from their statement last week that they would not release any Hostages,” The president wrote on his Truth Social account.

The post continued, “Israel will now have to decide what they will do about the 12:00 O’CLOCK, TODAY, DEADLINE imposed on the release of ALL HOSTAGES. The United States will back the decision they make!”

Tel Aviv may view Trump’s post as a greenlight to break the ceasefire and resume its onslaught in Gaza. Israeli army chief Herzi Halevi said Saturday that it is his “duty to bring everyone back,” and the IDF is “investing in many efforts for this purpose, and at the same time, we are preparing offensive plans.”

Trump is restating a threat he made on Monday. “If all the hostages aren’t returned by Saturday at 12 o’clock, I think it’s an appropriate time. I would say cancel it, and all bets are off. Let hell break out,” he said.

Trump issued the threat after Hamas said it would display the hostage release scheduled for February 15 because Israel was not abiding by the ceasefire agreement. Since the deal went into effect on January 19, Israel has killed around 100 Palestinians in Gaza. Additionally, Tel Aviv is not letting in the amount of aid that was promised under the deal.

Construction equipment to begin clearing debris, mobile homes, and tents were all pledged to be allowed into Gaza during the ceasefire and hostage deal. However, Israeli officials speaking with the New York Times confirmed that Tel Aviv was not living up to its end of the deal.

On Thursday, Hamas walked back its plan to withhold future hostage releases until Israel complies with the deal.

While it was Trump’s envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff that pushed the hostage exchange and ceasefire deal across the finish line, Israel is now failing to comply with the agreement and Hamas is continuing to release hostages.

It is unclear why Trump set Saturday as the deadline to release all hostages. Under the deal, captives on both sides were agreed to be released slowly over the first two phases of the agreement that would take several months.

Gaza Ceasefire? Israel Has Violated It 270 Times—And Counting

While Hamas announced a delay in the next round of prisoner exchanges—prompting accusations that it violated the ceasefire—Israel has been in breach of the agreement since the first hours of its implementation on January 19. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made it clear from the outset that he viewed the deal as merely a temporary pause.

State Department set to designate cartels as terrorist groups for 'total elimination,' angering Mexican president

The Mexican government responded to the news with threats.

Border czar Thomas Homan discussed recent cartel threats against U.S. Border Patrol agents and U.S. military personnel with Blaze Media co-founder Glenn Beck last week, noting that he anticipates that "there will be violence on the border."

Homan further indicated that President Donald Trump is prepared to both "rain hell down" on the cartels and "wipe them off the face of the earth."

The State Department is now taking steps to streamline the annihilation process.

According to the New York Times, the State Department is planning to designate over six cartels and criminal groups with links to Latin America as foreign terrorist organizations.

Six unnamed sources familiar with the imminent decision told the Times that in addition to Tren de Aragua and MS-13, the Trump administration plans to designate six Mexican cartels as FTOs: the Cartel del Golfo, the Jalisco New Generation Cartel, the Michoacán family, the Northeast Cartel, and the Sinaloa Cartel.

The planned designations are in accordance with an executive order Trump signed on his first day in office.

"The Cartels' activities threaten the safety of the American people, the security of the United States, and the stability of the international order in the Western Hemisphere," wrote Trump. "Their activities, proximity to, and incursions into the physical territory of the United States pose an unacceptable national security risk to the United States."

Trump underscored that it is now the "policy of the United States to ensure the total elimination of these organizations’ presence in the United States and their ability to threaten the territory, safety, and security of the United States through their extraterritorial command-and-control structures."

When a secretary of state ultimately makes an FTO designation, Congress must be notified of his intent and given seven days to review the designation. Apparently, Secretary Marco Rubio has already done so.

Unless there is a successful effort in Congress to block the FTO designation of these groups responsible for mass murder, kidnappings, assassinations, and trafficking deadly substances into the homeland, notice of the designation will be published in the Federal Register.

Once in effect, it will be unlawful for any person in the U.S. or subject to the jurisdiction of the U.S. to knowingly provide "material support or resources" to the terrorist organizations. That includes financial services, lodging, identification, and transportation.

The Mexican government, the New York Times, and Soros-backed liberal think tank Brennan Center are among the radical outfits that have taken issue with the Trump administration's plan.

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum threatened to expand her lawsuit against American gun manufacturers and vendors if the State Department went through with the designations, reported CBS News.

The document in question is a classified US State Department invitation for bids from private contractors and intelligence-linked entities such as the National Endowment for Democracy (NED) and USAID.

Circulated discreetly in August 2023, it solicited proposals to “support Iranian civil society, civic advocates, and all Iranian people in exercising their civil and political rights during and beyond” the next year’s electoral period, “in order to increase viable avenues for democratic participation.”

NERD summoned applicants to “propose activities” that would “strengthen civil society’s efforts to organize around issues of importance to the Iranian people during the election period and hold elected and unelected leaders accountable to citizen demands.”

The State Department also wished to educate citizens on purported “flaws of Iranian electoral processes.” Submissions were to “pay special attention to developing strategies and activities that increase women’s participation in civil society, advocacy, rule of law, and good governance efforts.”

The document is filled with lofty, euphemistic language. NERD claims to champion “participatory governance, economic reform, and educational advancement,” aiming to cultivate “a more responsive and responsible Iranian government that is internally stable and externally a peaceful and productive member of the community of nations.” In other words, another compliant western client state that serves imperial interests in West Asia rather than challenging them.

NERD envisaged successful applicants coordinating with “governments, civil society organizations, community leaders, youth and women activists, and private sector groups” in these grand plans.

State Department financing would produce “increased diversity of uncensored media” in Iran, while expanding “access to digital media through the use of secure communications infrastructure, tools, and techniques.” This would, it was forecast, improve the “ability of civil society to organize and advocate for citizens’ interests.”
