They're just pixels on a screen to me. You know how when some people watch TV or movies and an embarrassing moment for the character happens, and the audience kind of cringes or covers their eyes and whatnot and feels the embarrassment of the character? I realized those emotions were fake and not my own when I was 19-years-old. Never felt the emotions of the characters I was watching after that, just understood the emotions of the character. Remembering that and applying it to what the shills were trying to make me feel (they did admit they were trying to cause a seething choleric temper, their words), and reading Van Halen's own thoughts and feelings about everyone copying him helped me through it. Used to be the main genre I watched for the longest time. Loved horror movies and the unstoppable but defeatable nature of the movie monsters of the 80s, especially Mr. Meyers.
