Just checking in… I'm doing IRL stuff, but at least we won't need an eBake anytime soon. Which Baker is manning the oven? P&L? Clam? Someone else?
I think #2847 Baker Change gets the point across without filling up the notables unnecessarily. Why did we start announcing baker changes? So we don't get "Baker's a shill" due to previous baker's decisions?
Actually, we bakers encourage non-bakers to step up. I'm suggesting you ask to bake the next bread. We bakers "know each other" because we're always handing off to one-another and we ask BV/BO if the handoff is going to a known baker, so we can be more assured of a non-shill bake. If a new baker, there must be a BV/BO here in case we get a shill bake and the bread needs to be edited. Bakers cannot edit, so without a BV/BO, we can and have in the past gotten moldy breads.
In other words, we do it so you get a good bread, and for no other reason. When I'm not baking or announcing my availability, I'm just as anonymous as anyone else.
