my guess: they don't have delete powers but know how to mess with the java script with a man in the middle attack.
the refresh was funky, like it didn't know the link. Perhaps DNS is messed with?
maybe served me a 'special' page.

I post to a server, that posts to the real server.
they take over the DNS. Refresh kills that.
so they have no delete but they are able to make you think you have been deleted.?
