Nope, Spouse anon's job is to deal w/dead people at SSA and she explained it like this; SSA doesn't pay, Treasury pays. Only, with rare exceptions, does anyone get a physical check anymore, it's all digital. If there is an active bank account in the system, Treasury will deposit the payment indefinitely unless they turn 115.
Here's a link to the POMS regarding being 115; https://secure.ssa.gov/apps10/poms.nsf/lnx/0202602578
Payments are automatically 'suspended' at 115 unless there is an intervention. If a single SSA employee wished, they could fill in necessary data, update the record and reinitiate the payment by just validating it w/their PIN. If it's beyond a certain number of days and treasury has actually 'terminated' the payment, all it takes is for two crafty SSA employees to input the necessary data and each verify it w/their PINS. Once reactivated, it's beyond the threshold of the checks/balances and won't be flagged again by the system. DOGE found fraud.
