‘Good prospects’ with US, ‘hysterics’ in EU and Ukraine: Putin comments on talks in Riyadh

The US and Russia have taken the “first step” towards working together in a variety of areas, the Russian president has said

Russian President Vladimir Putin has shared his perspective on Tuesday’s high-level Russia-US talks held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Speaking to journalists in St. Petersburg on Wednesday, Putin described the discussions as “the first step” toward normalizing relations between Moscow and Washington, and expressed hope that the process will pave the way for cooperation in various areas, including arms control, space exploration, and energy.

Putin also criticized the reaction from the EU and Kiev, calling it inappropriate and entirely unwarranted. He emphasized that the primary goal of the Riyadh meeting was to initiate the restoration of US-Russia relations, adding that the two countries do not need any “intermediaries” to resolve their differences.

On the Riyadh meeting

Putin said he had been briefed on the talks in Riyadh and assessed them positively. He identified several areas of potential mutual interest for Moscow and Washington, including cooperation in the Middle East – particularly on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the situation in Syria – as well as economic collaboration, joint efforts in international energy markets, and space exploration. He also acknowledged that the ongoing conflict in Ukraine remains a key focus for both nations.

On the reaction of the EU and Kiev

The primary goal of Tuesday’s meeting was to “restore US-Russian relations,” Putin stated, when asked to comment on why the absence of Ukrainian and European delegations in Riyadh had sparked “panic” in Kiev and Brussels.

“Does anyone want to act as an intermediary between Russia and the US? Such demands are excessive,” the president said, emphasizing that Moscow and Washington do not require mediation.

He stressed that rebuilding trust between Russia and the US is essential for addressing “a number of pressing issues, including resolving the Ukraine conflict.”

“There is no reason for such a reaction to the US-Russia meeting,” Putin added, stating that “hysteria is inappropriate” in this situation.

On talks with Ukraine

“Russia has never refused contact with EU nations or withdrawn from negotiations with Ukraine,” Putin stated. He recalled that it was Kiev that pulled out of the Istanbul talks in the spring of 2022 and later banned its officials from engaging in any dialogue with Moscow.

The Russian president reiterated that Moscow is ready to return to the peace process at any time, but the decision ultimately lies with Kiev and Brussels. “I’ve said this 100 times: if they are willing, they are free to engage in such talks. We are ready to return to the negotiating table,” he emphasized.

Putin also noted that Kiev is not being excluded from any potential peace talks, adding that both Washington and Moscow expect Ukraine to join the process at some point.

On meeting with Donald Trump

Putin said he would be “glad” to meet with US President Donald Trump, recalling their past working relationship, where they were able to discuss bilateral relations and key issues in a calm and professional manner.

However, the Russian leader stressed that a simple “coffee hour” would not be enough to mend US-Russia relations under the current circumstances. He emphasized that both sides must thoroughly prepare for the meeting and work toward “mutually acceptable solutions” to the most pressing issues on their agendas.

While Putin did not specify a potential date for the talks, he reiterated Russia’s willingness to hold such a meeting. “We are still open to such discussions, and I want this to happen,” he stated.

On Ukrainian drone attack on US-linked infrastructure

Kiev’s forces could not have attacked an oil pumping station in Russia’s southern Krasnodar Region on their own, Putin asserted, speaking to journalists in St. Petersburg on Wednesday. On Monday, an attack hit a facility operated by the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC), which is partly controlled by US and EU companies.

Such an attack would require satellite intelligence data Kiev could have only obtained from its Western backers, since it does not possess a satellite system of its own, the president said.

Putin also questioned the motives of those who may have contributed to the attack, saying that the strike would have a negative impact on the international oil markets, as the station’s pumping capacity has been slashed.

“This will lead to… higher energy prices on the world market,” Putin said, noting that this development runs counter to the Trump administration’s desire to stabilize and decrease energy prices.e “very friendly” atmosphere of the talks and noted that the American side was “open to the negotiation process.”

Did the Deep State install Pope Francis? | Archbishop Viganò

Archbishop Viganò’s past statement continue to shake the Catholic world as he calls for an investigation into the alleged forced resignation of Pope Benedict XVI, revealing alarming claims that the “deep state” orchestrated Benedict’s removal to install Pope Francis, a leader more aligned with globalist interests. Reports of financial manipulation, U.S. government involvement, and Vatican corruption fuel suspicions that Francis’ papacy was never legitimate. With evidence emerging from diplomatic cables, leaked emails, and financial transactions, calls are growing for transparency before any new conclave takes place.

Learn of the possible deep entanglement between the Vatican and globalist elites, exposing how figures like Theodore McCarrick played a pivotal role in orchestrating mass immigration policies for financial and political gain. The Catholic Church’s alleged involvement in border policies, including receiving billions in federal funds to facilitate the migration crisis, raises serious ethical concerns. As Pope Francis’ health declines, many are urging Trump and other world leaders to release classified documents that could expose the Vatican’s ties to the globalist agenda.

French President Macron and British PM Starmer Coming to U.S. to Discuss Ukraine with President Trump

February 19, 2025 | Sundance | 206 Comments

Last weekend French President Emmanual Macron organized an emergency meeting in Paris with leaders from the European Union to address the unfolding crisis of President Trump organizing a ceasefire and peace in the war between Ukraine and Russia.

The outcome of the meeting was what would be expected. Each member of the EU said they would not put their military forces into a peacekeeping mission in Ukraine if the United States were not leading the effort. Having previously warned the NATO alliance to step-up their military spending, President Trump has no intention of putting U.S. troops into a regional conflict that affects Europe.

Additionally, Macron has domestic political issues he is hopeful to draw attention away from; meanwhile British Prime Minister Keir Starmer is similarly alarmed as the U.K has taken up the prominent position of military support for Ukraine. Together, they are both planning quick trips to the White House for talks with President Trump.

WASHINGTON DC – French President Emmanuel Macron is coming to Washington next week, national security adviser Mike Waltz said on Wednesday.

Macron called for an emergency “informal” meeting with world leaders just days ago in Paris to discuss European security and the challenges posed by President Donald Trump’s administration. Trump and Macron had a “friendly” but brief conversation just prior to the summit, POLITICO reported on Monday.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer is also set to visit next week, Waltz said on Fox News. Starmer’s office confirmed the visit earlier this week.

This trip comes on the heels of Trump’s increasing jabs at Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy for not doing more to end the war in Ukraine earlier. Trump called Zelenskyy a “dictator without elections” on Wednesday, as European leaders are growing fearful that Trump will side with Russian President Vladimir Putin over the interests of longtime European allies.

The White House did not immediately respond to request for comment.

Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has been traveling throughout Europe and the Mid-East seeking support and comfort as he attempts to retain the status quo. There are multiple billions at stake for Ukraine as U.S. taxpayers have been funding the operations of government, and the retirement accounts of Ukrainian officials.

In April 2022, Ukraine Prime Minister Shmyhal was not the least bit bashful saying cash was important because American taxpayers, the working American people, have a duty to fund the pensions and retirement accounts of the Ukrainian people, including govt politicians.

Germany, France, Great Britain and the larger EU assembly cannot and will not cover the bills for Ukraine themselves. This is a major issue for them and one of the primary reasons they will not put their military forces into the lead position on behalf of Zelenskyy. This is also a big point of contention for President Trump.

Meanwhile, Vice President J.D. Vance on Wednesday warned the Ukrainian president against attacking President Donald Trump, saying that ‘badmouthing’ him in public would only backfire.

Vance spoke to DailyMail.com hours after Ukrainian President Volodomyr Zelensky accused Trump of living in a Russian-made ‘disinformation space.’

The extraordinary language on both sides comes at a critical time in the war between Ukraine and Russia, as Trump pushes for a speedy resolution. (read more)

Most western media ignored the obvious when JD Vance and Marco Rubio met with the Ukraine delegation on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference. It was clear from the body language and visible arrogance from the Ukraine side, this was not a meeting of aligned allies.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy is counting on a pressure campaign from the EU, the global intelligence apparatus, and domestic corporate interests inside the U.S. to keep his position solid against the policies of President Trump and JD Vance. The financial benefits of the conflict have enriched a variety of U.S. politicians who are also helping to create pushback against President Trump.

The one thing all of the aligned interests fear most is a geopolitical agreement, even possibly an alignment, between President Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin. However, it appears that both leaders well understand the objective and are undeterred in their diplomacy.

If you listen carefully to this segment of Secretary Marco Rubio’s comments a few days ago, you quickly realize the goals of President Trump and how universally they are opposed by the people and institutions that benefit from conflict

Federal judge in Texas officially strikes down Biden administration's Title IX expansion

U.S. District Court in northern Texas granted summary judgment on Wednesday, stating the rule "undermines the purpose of Title IX, endangers students, and has '[n]o basis in reality.'"

A federal court in Texas on Wednesday officially struck down the Biden administration Department of Education's Title IX expansions, which added protections for LGBTQ students related to gender identity and sexual orientation.

The ruling comes after two judges last year granted a preliminary injunction that blocked the rule from taking effect. The rule intended to protect students from discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity, and was expected to take effect last August.

A U.S. District Court in northern Texas granted summary judgment on Wednesday, stating the rule "undermines the purpose of Title IX, endangers students, and has '[n]o basis in reality.'"

The court also ruled that the expansion and its regulations "violate the Constitution, and are the result of arbitrary and capricious agency action."

The ruling sides with a challenge brought by the Carroll Independent School District, which argued that the Department of Education's rule went beyond the scope of Title IX, and included requirements that were in conflict with the district's policies.

Carroll ISD President Cam Bryan praised the ruling in a statement.

“This decision to vacate the Final Rule is an important victory, affirming our dedication to maintain a learning environment where all students can thrive in a safe environment,” Bryan said. “We thank Judge [Reed] O’Connor for acknowledging the critical importance of these protections and the potential consequences the revised interpretation would have imposed.”
