"Russia" is a huge collective noun. It is in no way homogeneous. When POTUS backtracked and admitted the "Russians" tried to influence the elections, yet claimed a witch hunt against him, did not constitute a contradiction. "Russia" has a deep state problem, just like us, and acts independently of oficcial "Russian" government.
I guess that is why we're both here :)
