Social Security Announces Changes After Trump Executive Order

The Social Security Administration has announced that it is terminating a research program that focuses on retirement and disability policies.

Acting Commissioner Lee Dudek made the announcement in a press release saying that it is an action that supports President Donald Trump's executive order "Ending Radical and Wasteful Government DEI Programs and Preferencing."

Newsweek has contacted the Social Security Administration, via email, for comment.

Why It Matters

When Trump took office, he signed an executive order mandating an end to government-funded DEI efforts and directing that DEI-related roles be phased out. The administration has also exerted pressure on private sector employers to similarly shift their focus away from DEI initiatives.

Report Claims DNA Proves Ilhan Omar Married Brother in Immigration Fraud Scheme

We have previously reported on the case of US Representative Ilhan Omar, who has been accused of marrying her brother for the purpose of allowing him to become a citizen of the United States. In 2009, Omar married Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, both religiously and legally. Critics say that Elmi is her biological brother. She divorced him in 2017. Before she was married to Elmi, she was “religiously” married to another man with whom she had 2 children. After her divorce, she religiously and legally married the first man, the father of her children.

According to reports, Anton Lazarro and a group of conservative donors spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to hire private investigators to track down Ilhan Omar’s ex-husband, Ahmed Elmi, in the UK and procure his DNA from a drinking straw. Omar’s DNA, Lazarro’s website claimed, was extracted from saliva on a cigarette butt she was photographed smoking. He reported that test results showed a 99.9% chance that Omar and her second husband, Ahmed Elmi are siblings. Lazarro was arrested by the FBI just before he was able to deliver the bombshell news to the media, which some say is part of a coverup. Lazarro was charged with underage sex-trafficking and he is now in prison.

Representative Omar has not been able to stay out of trouble, She divorced the father of her children and married her campaign fundraiser, Tim Mynett, in 2020. An ethics charge was filed by the National Legal and Policy Center against her for allegedly failing to accurately report the financial assets, transactions, and liabilities of her spouse. Nonetheless, she was re-elected back to Congress in the November 2024 election.
